Not all spring setups feel the same, and that’s the beauty of reformer Pilates ✨
At FS8, we care far more about control, alignment, and intentional movement than simply adding the heaviest springs possible.
Here’s a quick guide to our reformer resistance:
🟢Green = lightest
🔵Blue = light
🟡Yellow = medium
🔴Red = heavy
A lot of people assume heavier springs always make a workout harder, but that’s not necessarily true.
Using lighter springs often challenges your stability, balance, control, and core strength more since you have less resistance supporting the movement. Heavier springs can definitely increase the intensity, but depending on the exercise, they can also offer a bit more assistance and support.
That’s why Pilates is less about “more resistance” and more about moving well.
