A pretty cool full-circle moment this week.

I was back at Western University with Big Wave Aquatics, alongside Greg Horton from The Casual Athlete, working with the UWO aquatic staff and putting both the Tsunami Rescue Board and Tidal Wave Aqua Fitness Board through their paces.

I graduated from UWO in 2010 and actually worked at the Rec Centre during its first year, so being back 16 years later, this time representing a company and products I’ve built was pretty surreal.

Great to reconnect with a place that played such a big part in my life, while sharing what we’ve been working on in the aquatics world.

Big news!

We’re excited to see the Tsunami Rescue Board officially available to the broader aquatic community through Aquam. This marks a major milestone for a project that began with a simple goal: creating a safer, more effective rescue platform for lifeguards and aquatic professionals.

At BWA, we’re incredibly proud to see the Tsunami Rescue Board reach this stage and look forward to seeing it make a difference in pools, waterfronts, and aquatic facilities across North America.

First Responders Day 🚨💙

Today, the Elgin County Drowning Prevention Coalition recognizes and thanks the dedicated first responders who help keep our communities safe.

From lifeguards and paramedics to firefighters, Coast Guard members, dispatchers, police, and all those who respond in moments of need — your courage, skill, and commitment make a lasting difference. 🛟🚑🚒🚤📞

As a coalition focused on drowning prevention and community safety, we are especially grateful for the individuals and teams who protect people in and around the water, respond to emergencies, and support prevention efforts before tragedies occur.

Thank you for your service, your leadership, and your continued commitment to safer communities. 💙

Big Wave Aquatics is fired up to bring a true lifeguard competition to Strathroy—fast rescues, intense races, all built around the Tsunami Rescue Board.
This is real gear, real skills, and real lifesaving in action. 🌊🔥

We're hosting lifeguard competition at the Strathroy Fairgrounds Waterpark! With the help of great friends like Big Wave Aquatics, Strathroy Sports, Plater Financial Inc., Rusty Wrench Brewing Company and representation from amazing brands like Speedo and Nova Craft Canoe we're bringing an event the likes the town has never seen before! Dramatic rescues, intense races, and a showcase of safety and athleticism.

That's fitness for the rest of us.
