Live Strong. Live Well. Live With Purpose. It is our mission to help people live in freedom! NOW!

Well Now Fitness was established because it cares about your health and well-being and desires to help you live a sustainable healthy lifestyle. It is dedicated to educating and inspiring people to transform their lives, day by day, through a holistic approach that engages the "WHOLE" person: body, mind, soul, and spirit. We are not about comparison or competition but COMPLETENESS. MOTTO: Transfor

ming your life, day by day, moment by moment. It is our belief that when you make small, everyday lifestyle changes you can improve your overall well-being. Living well is a life-long process and we "become" well each day when we embrace those small, feasible changes that move us in the right direction towards wholeness and health. "Become" is a present tense verb and means "to begin to be" or "grow to be". This is an ever-present journey. We are always becoming! The time is NOW to start becoming your best version of you!! It is never too late to begin making changes in your life. Well Now Fitness operates on four foundational pillars of wellness. These include physical fitness, mental fitness, social fitness, and spiritual fitness. The World Health Organization defines health as a "state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity." Good health is key to our living well and goes beyond our physical appearance. Improving one's wellness means reducing risk of disease while considering the many factors that affect the WHOLE person.

1. Physical Fitness
Regular physical activity is proven to help prevent and manage non-communicable diseases such as heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and several cancers. It also helps prevent hypertension, maintain healthy body weight and can improve mental health, quality of life and well-being. (World Health Organization)

However, your body needs more than movement alone. Nutrition, hydration, sleep, and rest are all necessary components of physical fitness.

2. Mental Fitness
Mental health is just as important as physical health, and it should not be neglected. This involves keeping your brain and emotional health in tip top shape. It will mean identifying, assessing and navigating through feelings that cause undue stress and anxiety. Interestingly, the more you move the body the more you help the mind. Physical activity increases the flow of oxygen to the brain. It also increases the amount of endorphins, the “feel good” chemical, in your brain. Studies have shown that engaging in vigorous physical workouts can help battle depression and promotes a more positive outlook on life. It aids in the management of stress which can cause physical and mental harm. Mental fitness also address our intellect. We are intellectual beings created with the capacity to learn and share knowledge. The more you challenge your brain the healthier it becomes! Learning is a life-long process and should continually be nourished by trying new things!

3. Social Fitness
We are social beings. We were made for relationship. Well Now Fitness values people and we are all about developing social networks. Social relationships create support systems that carry you through life’s struggles. We acknowledge that people thrive best when they are inter-dependent on each other rather being independent from each other. We are founded on the principle that we are all in this together. Everyone belongs here!! We do not compare or compete with others but cheer each other on in our journey to joy, freedom, and completeness!

4. Spiritual Fitness
We are also spiritual beings. Our physical bodies are evident, we can see and touch them. However, our souls and spirits are less distinguishable but non the less real to each one of us. The soul refers to our mind, will and desires as seen in our personal preferences, choices, and emotional responses to life's situations. Our soul is reflected in our personality. The spirit refers to that part of us that connects and communicates with God. Our spirit differs from our soul because our spirit is always pointed toward and exists exclusively for God, whereas our soul can be self-centered. The joy, comfort and peace of God's presence can only be experienced through our spirit. To deny the spirit is to live with less wholeness in your life. At Well Now Fitness spirituality is rooted in faith of God the Father, His Son, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. We operate on the premise that God has placed in each of us an innate desire to know Him. If we neglect this part of our being we will sense there is something missing in our lives and miss out on the wholeness that He longs to provide. Since He created us, He knows us best and knows what is good for us in every area of life, including health and wellness. In fact, as we integrate all parts of our lives to Him, we become complete and whole, healed and free! Then, we are able to live out His divine purposes with great joy. He has designed us each one uniquely and equips us to do whatever He calls us to do!! He brings true purpose and meaning to our lives.

Many women focus on nutrition and exercise while overlooking one of the most important wellness practices:

Sleep.

Quality sleep helps support:
• energy
• focus
• recovery
• emotional wellbeing
• healthy habits

Better sleep rarely fixes everything.

But poor sleep can make almost everything feel harder.

What's one thing that helps you sleep better?

Move With Me Monday ☀️

Many of us spend our day reaching forward—at a computer, steering wheel, phone, or kitchen counter.

Arm releases help open the chest, mobilize the shoulders, and encourage better posture.

A few simple movements can help counter hours of sitting and screen time.

Take a moment to stand tall, breathe deeply, and create a little space through the upper body.

SOUL SUNDAY

Many women have become so used to pushing through that rest can almost feel uncomfortable.
But rest was never meant to be something we earn only after exhaustion.

Sometimes rest looks like:

slowing down
taking a breath
stepping outside
quieting the noise
allowing your body and mind to recover
This week, may you remember that rest is not a weakness.
It is part of caring well for yourself.

One of my longtime favorites: Trail Mix Cookies. 🍪

These cookies are packed with oats, seeds, raisins, and other wholesome ingredients that make them a satisfying snack for busy days.

Over the years, I've made a few adjustments to the recipe. I usually use applesauce instead of butter and reduce the brown sugar to about 1 cup, sometimes adding a 1/4 honey or maple syrup.

What I love most about these cookies isn't that they're "perfect."

It's just that they're nourishing.

The combination of oats and seeds provides fiber, healthy fats, and nutrients that help support steady energy throughout the day.

Some of the seeds included in this recipe offer benefits such as:

🎃 Pumpkin seeds for magnesium, which supports muscle function and relaxation

🌻 Sunflower seeds for vitamin E and healthy fats

🌾 Flaxseed for fiber and omega-3 fats

You could even add h**p hearts for an extra boost of protein and healthy fats.

For me, wellness isn't about perfect nutrition.

It's about supportive nutrition.

It's about filling our kitchens with foods that help us feel nourished, satisfied, and cared for.

Do you have a favorite recipe that has stood the test of time?

Have you ever noticed that something makes more sense after a good night's sleep?

That's because your brain doesn't stop working when you go to bed.

While you sleep, your brain organizes information, strengthens memories, and helps connect ideas together.

Think of it like an invisible librarian filing away what you've learned during the day.

Sleep doesn't just help you remember facts—it helps you understand them.

Researchers have found that sleep helps the brain:
🧠 Store new memories
🧠 Strengthen learning
🧠 Make connections between ideas
🧠 Improve problem-solving and understanding

That's one reason why a good night's sleep can leave you feeling clearer, sharper, and more focused the next day.

Sleep isn't wasted time.

It's one of the most important investments you can make in your brain health.

🌙 Better days often begin the night before.

Inspired by learning from the Precision Nutrition Sleep & Recovery curriculum.

What have you noticed improves when you're well rested?

One of the organizations through which I earned my personal training certification is ACE (American Council on Exercise).

Over the years, I've appreciated their evidence-based approach to health and wellness, and this post captures many of the principles that have shaped my own philosophy:

✔ Focus on nourishment rather than restriction.
✔ Build sustainable habits rather than chasing perfection.
✔ Support your body with foods that provide energy, strength, and satisfaction.
✔ Think long-term health rather than short-term diets.

At Well Now Fitness, I share many of these same principles while also recognizing that wellness is about more than our physical health alone. Our thoughts, relationships, purpose, faith, rest, movement, and nutrition all work together to support our wellbeing.

This post does a wonderful job explaining why eating well is about nourishing your body, not punishing it.

Take a look and let me know what stands out to you most.
