The thing about being your own harshest critic is that you miss the good stuff entirely.
This is one of the quiet gifts of good supervision. Someone outside your own head who can spot the skill you talked right over. Who can pull out the moment that mattered and say, stay there, that was really good work.
You can’t always see your own competence clearly. That’s not a flaw. That’s exactly why we’re not meant to do this alone.
