Hard work showed up when it mattered. 🥇

This weekend, our team travelled to BCIT in Burnaby for the CompNet Vancouver Summer Championship, where Liam stepped onto the competition mats and brought home a gold medal for Gracie Barra Lake Country.

But this medal represents much more than two matches.

For three straight weeks, Liam took his preparation seriously—training three classes in one day, twice a week, pushing through difficult rounds, listening to his coaches, and continuing to show up even when the work was hard.

He also did not prepare alone.

Our Junior 1 and Junior 2 students made sure Liam had strong training partners every step of the way. They challenged him, encouraged him, helped him work through tough positions, and did everything they could to make sure he arrived at the tournament prepared and confident.

When competition day arrived, Liam trusted his training. He stayed composed, fought through both matches, and earned the gold medal.

We are incredibly proud of the result—but even more proud of the dedication, courage, discipline, and teamwork that led to it.

Congratulations, Liam. You earned this one. 🥇

And thank you to every teammate, parent, coach, volunteer, and supporter who helped make this weekend possible.
