Getting people out on the land and active is one of the main focuses of the KC Riders. The KC Riders have built 2 trails zones (TreeHouse Trails, KESS Bike Skills Park) with a 3rd zone (named at this time) underway up near the gravel pit and firewood lot. Stay tuned as these trails promise to be fun for all levels!
As part of this work we had Pat from Dig It Trailbuilders walk with us on the land to scope and survey the new zone. The map below shows some existing trails that are challenging but fun and walk your through beautiful second growth forests with some old growth gems along the way. The infamous Rope Trail is a Houpsitas classic.
Warning: These trails are challenging and only marked with flagging tape at this time. The South Trail is extra challenging and has not been maintained so please use with caution. While all the trails are marked with flagging tape (signs coming soon) orientation can be difficult and obstacles are steep, loose, rough. Use with caution, hike with a partner, let someone know when you are leaving and when you plan to return, and pack a radio, water and appropriate clothing.
The KC Riders encourage you to get out on the land, explore the beauty of your territory and have safe fun!
Fun note!- The new biking trails will be located between the gravel pit and the North Access Rope Trail. We have lots of work ahead but even more fun to follow!
