The 2026 U18 Canadian Championships are in the rearview mirror. As we (slowly) make our way home from Timmins, Ontario, we want to thank everyone that made this journey possible.

Thank you to the McIntyre Curling Centre for hosting an amazing event in an amazing venue. The volunteers, staff, ice crew and officials knocked it out of the park. Thank you to all the athletes and coaches for their professionalism, their sportsmanship and class on and off the ice. Congratulations to Team Tremblay from Quebec on winning the Boys title and to Team Wood from Saskatchewan on winning the Girls title.

Thanks to our Coach, Blair Jarvis, and our parents who have taken not just the past ten days to accompany and support us through this competition, but the countless evenings, days and weekends to give us everything they can to help us be successful in this sport.

Finally, we could not have done this without the support of our local curling communities, our friends, family, neighbors, local businesses and organizations. The financial burden of competition is extraordinary and yet, the generosity of everyone that has supported this team has allowed us the opportunity to compete at a level we had previously only dreamed about.

While the U18 Canadian Championships didn't quite go our way, we showed up for each game determined to represent our clubs, our communities and the Province of British Columbia with grit and grace. Two of our team members fell ill throughout the week, and while our alternate Julian filled in admirably when called upon, we never quite found our groove this week in Timmins.

We finished with a 3-4 record, just missing out on a spot in the playoff round. We had some solid games along the way, some heartbreaking losses and at times, had to be very humble. However, this experience has only whet our appetite to return to the national stage. We've seen what it takes to be successful here and can't wait for the opportunity to be here again.

Thank you everyone for following along, for all your notes and well-wishes throughout the week, and for cheering hard for Team BC!!!
