If you struggle with GUILT because of your THOUGHTS keep reading.... This post might set you free.
You are not your thoughts.
I donât just mean that you physically arenât your thoughts, cause like, duh.
What I mean is YOU donât choose your thoughts.
You arenât RESPONSIBLE for your thoughts.
You donât need to feel ANY shame or guilt for your thoughts.
Because YOU donât even create them.
You see, we have this idea that our mind and body and soul are all one entity.
Which means that we think, and we act, and then we assume itâs all what WE independently chose.
But what they donât teach is that your brain is an organ in your body that produces thoughts based on MEMORY.
Your brain data-logs everything into its memory bank â and then produces thoughts based on those memories ALONE.
This means that your brain cannot produce an original thought without having witnessed or experienced something to help create that thought.
Your brain doesn't produce original thoughts... EVER.
And this might feel like a blow to the ego because damn, none of my ideas came from me?
Sure they did, but from an accumulation of data that your brain collected and aligned together at the perfect time.
Sorry to tell ya, but even your greatest ideas came from the sum of things you've already experienced.
You can't come up with a thought out of thin air.
To test this theory, try and think of a colour you have never seen before.
Canât do it, can you?
Thatâs because youâve never seen it or experienced it before.
Which means.. none of your thoughts are completely original or created by YOU.
It means that thoughts are just memories of the past being regurgitated onto your present moment.
It also means that your thoughts donât mean anything about you or the current moment you are in AT ALL.
With this information, you can take the blow to the ego...
OR you can let it free you from your guilt for the random, dark, s**t thoughts that seemingly randomly occur.
Because YOU are NOT your thoughts, nor are you the CHOOSER of your thoughts.
You are the one who hears them. Who lives in the same house with them.
You can stop taking them so personally now đ
