Small-area games compress the ice and expand the learning. In a confined space, players touch the puck more in one shift than they might in a full period of 5-on-5 — every rep is a decision under pressure. Tight gaps force quick scans, deception, and puck protection in traffic. Defenders learn to close space without reaching. Everyone gets conditioned without ever being told to skate lines.

The best players aren’t always the fastest — they’re the ones who see the play before it happens. Head up, shoulder checks, scanning the ice, knowing where your support is before you receive the pass.
