Jump In Jump In is an innovative urban swimming opportunity for the Halifax Waterfront! Follow this page for This project is in collaboration with Sue Sirrs of Outside!

Jump In is Halifax-based project focused on creating urban swimming opportunities in our one-of-a-kind harbour. We envision urban swimming infrastructure such as docks, ladders, a jump platform, swimming buoys, water toys, as well as signage and lifeguard presence to create an accessible, safe and appealing place to swim off the Halifax waterfront. Providing urban swimming structures offers a free

, healthy and accessible activity which changes the city’s perspective and relationship to the harbour. It will encourage everyone to understand the vital connection to our water and importantly, to fun! Our project will be modelled after successful urban swimming projects in Copenhagen, Paris and Wellington, Jump In would be the first project of its kind in Canada! During the pilot, public feedback and opinions will be collected through a Dalhousie research project. The data will be able to aid in future urban swim projects both locally and beyond.
