I'm actually a little teary this morning thinking about yesterday's KW Knitters' Fair. I spent my time there walking the Aud, looking at what the vendors had to offer, but, more importantly, watching knitters (and other crafters, for sure there were crocheters and spinners around). People were excited to find things they'd only seen on-line. Some had lists and knew exactly what they wanted for their next project (or projects). Some (like me) had a vague idea of something they wanted to make, and scouted the booths looking for just the right yarn to make that vague idea reality (in my case, two skeins of KidMoSilk from Crooked Kitchen Yarn that will be...an Orenburg....something. Oh, and some safety eyes from Chateau Bornais Crochet and stitch markers from . And a splurge on an out of print Japanese lace knitting book).
That sense of delight and excitement could only have happened with the hard work of the KWKG Fair Committee. For Jen, Jenn, Anne, and Bev, it's a labour of love. The love came through, folks, it really did. But it is labour -- a lot of hard work that totally paid off, and I'm so grateful we have folks like this in our guild. Well done, and now I hope you get some much needed relaxation and a bit of knitting/crocheting time!
