π¬οΈ WHAT IS BALANCED BREATH? π¬οΈ
At the start of almost every class, you'll hear me say, "Throughout the session, I want us to practice what's called Balanced Breath"
But what does that actually mean?
Balanced breathing simply means creating smooth, even inhales and exhales. Instead of holding your breath, rushing it, or breathing shallowly, you allow your breath to flow at a steady,(evenly countedπ) comfortable pace.
Why does that matter?
π It helps calm your nervous system and signals to your body that you're safe and supported.
π It can lower stress levels, slow a racing mind, and help you feel more grounded.
π It improves focus and concentration, making it easier to stay present during your practice.
π It helps your body move more efficiently by delivering a steady supply of oxygen to your muscles.
The breath is one of the most powerful tools we have, and it's available to us every single day.
πΏ TONIGHT at 6:30 PM, we'll be focusing on exactly that in Bends-Day with Breath. It's a slower-paced practice where we take time to consciously pay attention and even our breath, build awareness, and learn how to use balanced breathing both on and off the mat.
