Group Club Paddle on the Wolastoq
Saturday, September 5
Meet up: 2pm at Central York (Douglas) Municipal Launch

This will be a relaxed 2-hour or so paddle down into the Sugar Island padua and then the upriver side of Sugar Island. Some of the paddle will be up against the current, but should be very manageable.

Pro tip: stop in at the nearby Keswick Kitchen and pick up some of their awesome cinnamon rolls.

Welcome to the new Trippin on NB Whitewaters page!

Over the past while, we’ve been working on creating long-form YouTube documentaries about our canoeing trips, from the planning and preparation to the paddling, whitewater, camping, and everything in between. We decided to create this page as a place to share those videos, along with additional stories, photos, and insights from the trips that don’t necessarily make it into the documentaries.

We also hope this page will give us a better way to connect with the people who watch our videos, answer questions, and hear about your own experiences on the rivers.

Over the next few posts, we’ll be sharing some of the videos already on the YouTube channel, along with a little more about how those trips came together and what the experiences were like.

Thanks for following along, and we hope you enjoy the journey!

Group Paddle Tomorrow, Saturday, August 15
Weather looks perfect for a trip around the Fulton Island Loop @ Two Bridges, Lakeville Corner
Meet Up 2:00pm
Launch from area between the two bridges, but parking will be at a premium, so best to drop off and park before/after the bridges to avoid too much congestion.

Fulton Island Loop Group Paddle - Saturday, August 15
Meet up: 2:00pm at the Two Bridges, Lakeville Corner

Join us for a paddle around Fulton Island, one of the Wolastoq Watershed Paddling Trails. The 1 1/2-2 hour, 7km loop on a wind-protected thoroughfare that leads to the sometimes windy Macquapit Lake and back into another channel that leads back to the bridges. Great Blue Herons are often seen on this water trail.

**Parking is limited to a few cars in the launch area between the two bridges. We suggest dropping off your boat and parking on the road before or after the bridge.
*** For those that would like to combine on your own with a morning paddle: suggestions would be Sand Point Road into the Burpee Mill Stream on Indian Lake or Hunter Ferry Cove on Macquapit lake.
**** This would make a great day when combined with Acadian Day celebrations/concert in Officers’ Square that evening.

Nice way to start the long weekend…a paddle on the Hurley Corner Loop, from Harvey’s Gardiner Creek Park with its brand new picnic gazebo.
Bloomin’ yellow waterlilies, lots of dragonflies, a few ducks and a jumping deer.
