⚽️⚽️Hello Fort Smith Soccer Club!!⚽️⚽️
Our summer season is fast approaching with our first practices of the season being held this Thursday, June 12th. With this comes a friendly reminder of what players need to wear when arriving to the field to play.
1. Soccer cleats/running shoes - Cleats are best for traction and ball control, but running shoes or sneakers will suffice. No metal studs/cleats are allowed. No boots, sandals, crocs, or anything where the heel or toes are exposed.
2. Shin guards - Primary purpose to do exactly as the name suggests, guard the shins. These should be worn under socks, but can be worn on top of them if unable to. These are required as you could only imagine how badly a shin can be hit or kicked when players are going after the ball.
3. Water Bottle - Hydration is a key component to health and safety when on the field. There is not a fountain or cooler on the field, so players are expected to bring this to the field with them.
4. FSSC Training/Practice Jersey - These were ordered last week after our registration closed. Due to time constraints to get the logos added and shipping delays with Canada Post, these may not be there for our first practice on Thursday. We will distribute these to players as soon as they arrive from UPS. In the meantime, we ask that players wear a comfortable tshirt for practices until they arrive. These must be worn to practices, as they show team pride, consistency, and will be something used when we compete later in the summer.
As always, this is a sport that remains in Fort Smith to bring children together, learn teamwork, learn the skills of the game, but most importantly to be fun. We want to make sure that this is FUN, but also SAFE.
