🔥 Build Upper Chest Mass with the Plate-Loaded Incline Press 🔥 Want that thick, shelf-like upper chest? The plate-loaded incline machine press is your best friend for locking in tension and pushing serious weight without sacrificing form. Here’s how to make every rep count: 💪 1. Set Your Seat Right – Adjust the seat so the handles line up with your upper chest. This keeps the tension exactly where you want it—on the upper pecs. 💪 2. Control the Negative – Don’t just drop the weight. Lower slowly, feel the stretch, then drive it back up with power. 💪 3. Elbows at a 45° Angle – Not flared out. This protects your shoulders and keeps the load on the chest. 💪 4. Push Through Your Palms – Focus on pressing through your chest, not your triceps. Think “squeeze the pecs” at the top of every rep. 💡 Pro Tip: Try a slight pause at the bottom to eliminate momentum and build explosive strength. Tag a gym partner who needs to stop skipping incline work!

Today we discuss the central nervous system and how pivotal a role it has in strength training. 🧠 Your Brain Lifts Too — The CNS & Strength Training You didn’t get weaker… your nervous system just said, “not today.” The Central Nervous System (CNS) controls everything in your lifts — how fast you fire, how hard you squeeze, how well your form holds when it gets ugly. When you’re constantly going heavy, grinding sets, and skipping rest? You’re not just fatiguing muscles — you’re frying the control panel. ⚠️ Signs of CNS fatigue: Bar speed feels off You’re drained before the warmup ends You start missing reps you should hit 💡 Train smart: ✅ Wave your intensity ✅ Prioritize sleep + carbs ✅ Respect rest days ✅ Don’t max out every week 👉 Master your nervous system, and you’ll master your strength. The Standing Cable Archer Row I have notorious difficulty connecting to my rear delts. Facepulls, high rows, bent over rear delt flys, doesn’t matter what. THIS is the single first movement that gives me that mind-muscle connection I’ve been searching for my rear delts for years. Set a cable pulley at sternum or shoulder height, stand in a staggered or split stance, and pull the handle back and up while leading with the elbow and slightly rotating your torso to open your chest. If you have as much trouble connecting to your rear delts as I do, give the standing cable archer row a shot your next shoulder day 💪🏻
