Big changes are ahead for Fortress Ninja.

As of yesterday, our facility at The Hangingstone Climbing Company has closed.

Fortress Ninja began within the walls of Hangingstone, and we’ll always be grateful for the foundation it gave us. While Hangingstone has now closed, its spirit will always be part of Fortress. Everything we’ve built, and everything still to come, started there.

However, this isn’t the end of Fortress. We’re shifting gears and working toward a new chapter: bringing Fortress Ninja to you.

Our vision: Bringing the same obstacles, challenges, and community energy to schools, events, and pop-up experiences throughout the region. While we’re still in the early stages of planning, our aim is to make ninja more accessible and adaptable than ever before.

We are so incredible grateful for our community – All of our athletes, volunteers, and supporters have truly made the most fantastic place to train and remember what it means to play. Your enthusiasm and encouragement are what make us excited for what’s next.

We are excited to share updates as we have them. This may be a big change, but it’s not goodbye. We can’t wait to see you all on the rig again!

TODAY IS THE DAY!

We are so thrilled for this Season 11 UNAA International Qualifier competition. For all competitors, please make note of the following:

1. Walkthrough times are as posted. Please ensure you show up 15 minutes prior to your division's walkthrough time to ensure adequate time for check-in and orientation.

AGES 6-15: 9:45AM
AGES 16+: 12:00PM

2. Make sure you bring your Ninja shoes, water bottle, and sportsmanlike attitude!

3. If you have not been to Fortress Ninja before, or if it has been 12 months since you signed a waiver with us, please fill one out before arriving. It can be found online at hangs.ca/waiver.

Are we dreaming?!

We want to say a HUGE thank-you to everybody who helped make this happen by supporting us, voting, and being the best ninjas ever! We are so incredibly thankful for this community and everything we have done in the past year.

We can't wait to see what the next year brings and everything our incredible ninjas can accomplish!

We are excited to announce that we have expanded our age allowance here at Fortress Ninja! Now, even younger ninjas can start crushing the course.

For Unguided Open Gym sessions, we welcome ages 4 and up. We remind parents that direct supervision is required at all times.

Our classes and Guided Open Gym sessions remain open to our ninjas ages 6 and up!

Grab your indoor shoes and water bottle - the course awaits!

We are SO proud of our female ninjas who crushed at this year's Women in Ninja Competition! Congratulations to our current ninjas Amber, Maya, and Hannah, as well as former Fort McMurray Athlete Alma!

They all more than showed up to the courses and showed everybody what it really means to crush AND have fun doing it.

We can't wait to see everybody at the next competition!

Announcement to all of our ninjas!

Tomorrow, September 1st 2025, Fortress Ninja will not be hosting our typical classes. Instead, we will be open from 5-8 for unguided open gym!

Time is ticking down to Summer! Reserve your camper's spot at the Orangahangs full day bouldering and ninja warrior summer camp - weeks are filling fast!

Campers will enjoy active movement, crafts, games, knowledge activities, and more! Only $250 per week.

EXPANDED NINJA HOURS AT FORTRESS!

We’re excited to officially expand our Ninja schedule — giving you more time and more ways to train, play, and move.

Here’s how Ninja now works at Fortress:

- Classes
Structured, instructor-led sessions. Kids can be dropped off and will receive focused coaching. Two hour-long classes available every Monday!

- Guided Open Gyms
Free play with a facilitator supervising. Great for skill-building with flexibility.
Sundays from 6–8 PM

- Unguided Open Gyms
Free play with no staff supervision. Parents must actively supervise their children.
For safety, riskier obstacles will be off-limits and capacity is limited.
Sundays from 12–5 PM
Mondays from 12-4 PM
Tuesdays–Saturdays from 12–6 PM

Whether you're building confidence, training for competition, or just having fun, there's now a session for everyone.

New schedule begins July 21st! We can't wait to see you on the rig!
