Hoop Heroes Inclusive Basketball Association We run a basketball program for children with exceptional needs I have over 30 years experience coaching basketball from grassroots up to the provincial level.

My name is Frank Power and I am one of the creators of Hoop Heroes Inclusive Basketball Association. I am currently a PE teacher at Elsie Yanik Catholic School for grades K-6 and am going into my 18th year of teaching. My wife Karla is a Music teacher at Christina Gordon School and the Co-Creator of the program. She is a strong advocate for inclusion and accessibility not only for her school but o

ur community as a whole. She has supported my dream of this program from day 1 and has been a strong force and helping bring this program to where is currently is. I have two sons Paddy (age 9) and Kelton (age 6) who have been the driving force behind the purpose of this program starting. They both were diagnosed with Autism at the age of 2 years old and are non verbal. With Hoop Heroes the goal was to have the option of a basketball program for children like them and others with exceptional needs to play the sport that has given so much to me.

Registration for Season 8 is officially open! This season, there are 2 days to choose from (Tuesday or Thursday) in an attempt to keep our younger groups a bit smaller. Once registered, you will receive a welcome email with details on how to pay the $25 fee.
Our season will run for 5 weeks from October 6th-November 12th. Registrants will receive a confirmation email with times and location, once we are able to book the facility in early September.
