I used to be the queen of starting over.

Monday hits → “This is my week.”
By Thursday → overwhelmed, off track, frustrated.

✨ Vulnerability isn’t weakness — it’s strength. ✨

Hi, I’m Velvette (pronounced Velvet) — coach, advocate, and woman who chose to rise.

A few years ago I was burned out, exhausted, and struggling with my confidence and self-worth. A relationship ended and I knew something had to change. So I said YES to myself and began investing in my healing — physically, emotionally, mentally.

But the biggest turning point came about a year and a half ago when I reconnected spiritually. I learned something that changed everything:

✨ Anyone who takes refuge in God is not condemned. ✨

For so long, I was the one condemning myself for my past and my mistakes. When I finally laid that down, grace replaced shame… and freedom followed.

Since then, I’ve rebuilt my confidence, discovered my values, stepped out of my comfort zone, and surrounded myself with powerful, like-minded women.

Now my mission is clear: to help millions of women stop shrinking, manage stress and fear, and boldly step into the life they were created for.

Because I believe this with my whole heart:

🌿 Let’s Talk About Cortisol – Your Body’s Built-In Alarm System 🌿

You’ve probably heard of cortisol—but what is it exactly?

Cortisol is often called the stress hormone, and it’s produced by your adrenal glands as part of your body’s natural “fight or flight” response. In small doses, it’s super helpful—it helps regulate your energy, blood pressure, metabolism, and even your immune function.

But here’s the catch 👉 when stress becomes chronic (hello, modern life 😅), your body can get stuck in cortisol overdrive—and that’s where the problems begin.

🧠 What does that mean for your body?
• 💥 Fatigue and burnout
• 😴 Trouble sleeping
• 🍭 Cravings for sugar or carbs
• 📈 Weight gain, especially around the belly
• 😟 Mood swings or anxiety
• 😣 Weakened immune system

And your gut? It takes a big hit too.

Last night I was reminded why I became a coach…

I didn’t always know this would be my path—but looking back, it makes perfect sense.

There was a time in my life when I felt completely disconnected from me.
I had lost my spark, my confidence, and honestly, my identity.
I was showing up for everyone else, wearing a smile, doing the things—but inside, I felt like a shell of who I once was.

I forgot what lit me up.
I stopped prioritizing my health, my joy, and my dreams.
I was surviving, not thriving.

And then something shifted.
It wasn’t one big moment—it was a slow, painful realization that if I didn’t choose me, no one else would.

So I started the journey back to myself.
It was messy. Emotional. Beautiful.
I learned to set boundaries, to move my body with love, to fuel it with intention, and most importantly—to reconnect with my worth and purpose.

That journey is why I became a coach.

Because I know I’m not the only woman who’s ever felt lost.
I’m not the only one who’s put herself last for far too long.
And I want you to know: it’s not too late to rediscover you.

My mission is to help women come home to themselves—to feel confident, empowered, and to truly love their life again.
Not just exist in it.

You are worthy of a life that lights you up.

When I first started focusing on my health, I was a mess — mentally, physically, and emotionally.⁣
I was 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘮𝘦𝘥, 𝘦𝘹𝘩𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘥, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘦𝘵𝘭𝘺 𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨.⁣
I knew deep down that if I didn’t make a change, things were going to get worse… not just in my body, but in my mind, my spirit, my life.⁣

So I made a 𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙞𝙘𝙚.⁣
I started small. I began prioritizing my health.⁣
And somewhere along the way, I felt this deep nudge to help others do the same.⁣
That’s when I decided to become a coach.⁣

But let me be real with you…⁣
The self-doubt came in fast.⁣
I looked around and saw all these incredible people already doing the thing — thriving, inspiring, changing lives.⁣
And there I was… comparing, doubting, shrinking.⁣

The “𝘞𝘩𝘰 𝘢𝘮 𝘐 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴?” voice was loud.⁣

But I had to come back to my “𝘸𝘩𝘺.”⁣
I remembered how it felt to be at the starting line — overwhelmed, unsure, stuck in my own head.⁣
And I realized that 𝘮𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘦 that was exactly why I was called to this.⁣
Because I get 𝘪𝘵.⁣
Because I’ve 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘵.⁣
And because I believe no woman should have to walk that path alone.⁣

I want to help women take their first steps back to themselves — with support, grace, and belief.⁣
I want to remind them that their story isn’t over… it’s just beginning.⁣
And I know, without a doubt, that my mess wasn’t a mistake — it was the foundation of my mission.⁣

If you’re there now — lost, comparing, unsure where to begin — I see you. I was you.⁣

Ever feel like life is moving in fast forward?
The days blur together… and before we know it, another week has flown by.
Work. Family. Errands. Repeat.
And somewhere along the way, you got lost in the shuffle.

Then it hits—
That heavy feeling of overwhelm.
The burnout.
The emotional exhaustion that creeps in when you haven’t paused to refill your own cup.

Your Body is Talking — Are You Listening?

Ever feel sluggish even though you’re eating “healthy”? Or maybe your workouts leave you drained instead of energized?

Here’s the thing: movement and nutrition are partners, not separate checkboxes. One fuels the other.

A few simple truths:

🥙 If you’re not nourishing your body well, your workouts won’t feel good. You might feel lightheaded, sore for days, or just plain tired.

📉 If you’re not moving your body consistently, your digestion slows down. That can lead to bloating, low energy, and cravings.

💦 Protein and hydration are non-negotiables for muscle recovery and steady energy—especially if you’re active.

🚶‍♀️Walking after meals (even 10 minutes) helps regulate blood sugar and support digestion.

🔁 You don’t need fancy workouts or perfect meals. Just consistent effort in both areas.

Your body is always giving you feedback — energy, sleep, mood, cravings, and how your clothes feel. Pay attention. Adjust gently. Give yourself grace.

Tuesday evening I had a little graduation ceremony. For the last 28 weeks I have been taking a program called Freedom Session through the church. I had spent the last 3 years doing a lot of personal work on myself including counseling and working with coaches and reading lots of books. But I knew I needed something different to finishing working through some of the lingering traumas from my life. This program right from week 1 pushed me to face things I had forgotten about or rather buried down. It forced me to take out “secrets” I thought I would take to my grave of hurts done to me and hurts I did to others. It helped me to release guilt, shame and the feeling of not being worthy of true love. It helped me to heal old wounds, make amends with those who hurt me and learn how to set healthy boundaries.

This program has taught me how to communicate more openly and lovingly. People in my life have noticed the change—I’m more calm, more present, and more honest. I now speak what’s on my heart without fear of conflict, which is something I used to avoid. I didn’t want to let people down, so I would keep quiet. Now I’ve found a way to express myself with clarity and compassion, and it’s created more peace in my relationships—not conflict.

Freedom Session also gave me the tools I needed to create healthy boundaries. As someone who used to struggle with people-pleasing, this was a major breakthrough for me. I can now say “yes” and “no” from a place of peace, not pressure. That, in itself, is freedom.

But what I appreciated most about this program was the safe and sacred space to face my past. I was able to walk through painful memories, process them, forgive, and release them. I don’t carry the weight of those experiences anymore—I truly feel free. The name “Freedom Session” is so fitting, because that’s exactly what it offers—freedom.

I’m deeply grateful for Freedom Session. It has not only helped me heal—it has equipped and empowered me to walk in purpose, faith, and freedom.

I used to hate this woman. I didn’t love her the way God does — fully, unconditionally.
I fed her lies, told her she wasn’t good enough, and believed the voices of others who said the same. I allowed her to be broken. I let others treat her with disrespect, and at times, I didn’t protect her heart the way I should have.

I watched her run through brick walls and fight battles for people who wouldn’t even lift a hand for her. I couldn’t stop the ones who abandoned her, but I saw her rise anyway — shining her light into the world and loving others, even when it hurt.
While fear held me back, she battled silently in her mind, her heart, and her soul.

She has made mistakes — as a sister, daughter, auntie, spouse, girlfriend, and friend — because she’s real. She doesn’t always say or do the “right” thing. She has a sharp tongue sometimes. She carries secrets, and she bears scars… because she has a history.
Some love her. Some like her. Some don’t understand her at all.

She’s lived through moments she’s proud of and moments she’s not.
Some days, she’s polished. Other days, she’s raw and messy. She laughs too loud, gets random, and doesn’t always follow the script.
She refuses to pretend to be someone she’s not — because God made her for authenticity, not perfection.

Every mistake, every triumph, every heartbreak, every blessing — all of it — shaped her into the woman she is today.
You can love her or not. But if she loves you, it’s with her whole, God-shaped heart, and she won’t apologize for the fire within her.

This woman is a WARRIOR.
She is not perfect, but she is wonderfully made. She is UNSTOPPABLE.
Gracefully broken, yet beautifully standing — held together by GRACE, not by her own strength.
She is LOVED — by people, but most importantly, by her Heavenly Father.
She is LIFE. She is TRANSFORMATION.
She is BRAVE. She is REDEEMED.
She is HIS.
