Team Snow received some great news yesterday. We’ve been accepted to CurlSask’s High Performance program. Looking forward to working with CurlSask’s full array of resources to grow our game and performance. Off season training continues and testing begins in June. Back on the ice in August. What an amazing season of memories. We’re very proud of our growth and success this season. So many miles travelled, rocks thrown, and joys shared. We’re looking for more next season. Tristan, Liam, David and Quinn will continue as a U20 team in the fall, hoping and working toward continued success. They’ll be playing together at the Nutana on Monday nights as well. David has aged out of U18 and thus we welcome Jax Robson as his replacement. The boys will make another run at U18 Nationals and the Canada Winter Games in the fall. Day 2 of MK Classic is in the books. We had a strong game against Team Mrazek and came away with a win finishing pool play at 3-1. Bad news was there was a 3 way tie for first and our L*D was 3rd best, so we don’t play in playoffs Sunday. Boys had fun at banquet last night and got to hold Mark’s Olympic gold medal. Pretty cool weekend. Season is winding down quickly with our weekend travels now over. We have league play remaining on Monday nights and a weekend doubles spiel in April at Nutana. Thanks to St Albert curling club for hosting us yesterday and all those involved in Mark Kennedy Classic. Thanks again to our sponsors and supporters. It’s been an amazing season.

I forgot to mention earlier: Shout out to lead Tristan Heal who won us the game against Team Grindheim. Tied after 8 with draw to button for the win and Tristan came through. A lot of fun to watch.

Day 1 of MK junior classic in the books. Came away with 2 wins and a loss, not yet having curled our best. That’s the goal for today with our 2:30 draw. Thanks to Sherwood Park Curling club staff and volunteers for a great experience.

Mark Kennedy Junior Classic isn’t just for the athletes! If your player made a double takeout you got the stuffy. If your player hogged a rock there was a pig that’s passed around (none of those so far). There were lounge vouchers for the parent who had the stuffy at the end of the game. Congrats to David & Liam for some great shots! 🥌
