Hi there, my name is Gabriel (you can call me Gabe). I am a Kinesiologist and a Physiotherapy Technologist (Phys. I have been working in fitness industry since 2015. I have worked with a wide range of clientele, both young and older, general population to athletes. My focus is helping busy individuals with exercise. Life can feel hectic sometimes, leaving little to no time for fitness for certain people. I’m here to keep your health a priority, even with a busy schedule. In working with me, you will have something structured, realistic and flexible. Expect things to be simple, straightforward and effective. In my spare time I like to lift weights, read, play music, spend time in nature and experiment different coffee brewing techniques. As a Montrealer, naturally, I am big fan of the Montreal Canadiens.

New YouTube video is up. It's the assessment I do with every client before I write a single exercise, the ground-up one.

If your back hurts when you squat or deadlift and you've already been told it's weak glutes or tight hip flexors, this one shows you what I look at instead.

It starts at your feet.

If your shoulder pinches on the press, look at the space in your upper back before you train the shoulder.

Remember: one exercise can help. The part that's usually missing is knowing why it fits, what it should change, and what comes next.

Rachel had been dealing with lower back pain for years.

It got to the point where she couldn't carry her son to bed, driving more than 15 minutes hurt, and she wasn't sleeping well.

She'd tried chiropractors, massage, yin yoga, online mobility courses and a lot of stretching.

And for 40 years she believed she was just born tight, that she'd never touch her toes or get into a real squat.

In this conversation, we talk about what she had already tried, why she almost didn't reach out, the first change she noticed a couple of weeks in, and what training and everyday life look like now.

Probably my favorite part of the whole conversation is hearing her say, "Now I think I am dangerously close to touching my toes."

If every return to training ends in another flare up, your rehab may be missing the part that builds your capacity for training again.

The spot that hurts is the last place I look for the reason it hurts

Comment "LIFT" and I'll send you the 7 exercises I use with my 1:1 clients to prepare them to get back to lifting.

If your back tightens on squats, look at your hips before your core.

Remember: one exercise can help. The part that's usually missing is knowing why it fits, what it should change, and what comes next.

That’s why I stay involved between sessions, not just during them.

Eric came to me after three years of back pain, three cortisone shots and a lot of PT, and 135 on the deadlift felt heavy.

Four months later he's floor pressing over 200 and just got back from a vacation where he didn't have to think about his back.

If your pain has been ruining your training (and your life)

If your arch is there when you stand normal but disappears the second your weight comes forward, you might not have flat feet, you might have your weight sitting too far over them.

Feeling better doesn’t automatically mean you’re ready to deadlift again, that part has to be trained too.
