Good evening everyone,

we’re asking for this situation to please come to an end. people are still sending posts and messages to the family, and it’s overwhelming. at this point, it feels unnecessary. we are trying to move forward, but it’s hard to do that when things keep being brought back up. what matters most in all of this is karmen, she was hurt and had to be taken to the hospital, which was a very scary experience for all of us. even now, she’s trying to recover, and the stress from everything being posted and shared is affecting her more than people realize. this is not just something online. this is her health, and it’s serious. the more this continues, the harder it is on her.

we are not looking to argue, go back and forth, or create more conflict. we’ve said what we needed to say, and we are choosing to leave it there. our focus is not on social media — it’s on making sure karmen is okay and supporting her through this. we are also disappointed that, despite everything, there was no proper apology made directly to karmen. regardless of how the situation is being explained, she was the one who was hurt, and that’s something that affected all of us deeply.

at this point, we are respectfully asking everyone to stop sharing posts, stop sending messages about this situation, and allow us the space to move forward. continuing to bring this up is only adding stress to someone who is trying to heal.

we also want to take a moment to address the concern that was raised. to the player who felt that this happened, we are truly sorry that you experienced that and felt disrespected — no one should feel that way during a game. we want to be clear that we have spoken with our players, and they have all stated that this did not occur. this is not something we tolerate or teach, and it does not reflect the values of our team. our girls are taught to respect one another and play the game the right way, and none of them would intentionally do something like that to another player. that being said, we still acknowledge how this situation has made others feel, and we’re sorry for any distress it may have caused.

please keep karmen in your thoughts and respect her privacy while she recovers

Good evening everyone, i’d like to speak about the situation regarding one of our players, Karmen.

first and most importantly, our focus was on karmen. she was hurt and had to be taken to the hospital, which was an extremely scary and overwhelming experience for her, our team, and especially her family. we understand that there are different versions of what happened being shared, but regardless of intent, the outcome is what matters. a player was injured and required medical care, and that alone should be taken seriously by everyone involved,

as a team, we have spoken directly with our players. we stand by them and what they have told us. we also want to be very clear that we do not tolerate or teach any form of disrespectful behavior. our players are taught to play with integrity, respect others on and off the ice, and to simply enjoy the game. we also want to address the claims that have been made. we have confirmed with our players that no one engaged in spitting. that is not something we would ever accept or allow. assumptions and rumors can spread quickly, especially in emotional situations, but it is important to separate speculation from facts.

what we are having a hard time understanding is why these accusations are only being brought forward now. during the game, nothing was said to our coaches or players. no concerns were raised in the moment, and no opportunity was given to address or resolve anything at that time. if something as serious as that had actually happened, it should have been handled immediately so it could be properly dealt with,

this is not about creating conflict or placing blame. this is about acknowledging what happened and the impact it had. sports can be intense, but at the end of the day, player safety, respect, and care for one another should always come first.
