The Halifax Hawks Minor Hockey Association have launched a petition outlining concerns regarding the Halifax Forum Redevelopment Project. As decisions regarding recreation infrastructure and ice availability have implications for minor hockey associations across HRM, we encourage our members to review the petition and add their names if they support it.

🏒 Growth, community, and representation on the ice!

For , we want to give a shoutout to two of our athletes—and brothers—William and Xander Merrick! They had the opportunity to attend the legendary AHIHA - Stan Mikita Hockey School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Illinois this summer.

Founded by Chicago Blackhawks Hall of Famer Stan Mikita, this camp brings together deaf and hard-of-hearing players from all over to build skills, confidence, and lifelong friendships.

We are proud to have the Merrick brothers representing our association. They prove every single day that hearing loss doesn’t stop passion, hard work, or a love for hockey.

🏒💙💛 We’re back, Whalers! 💛💙🏒

Conditioning kicked off this weekend, and it was great to see Whalers players back on the ice and the rinks buzzing again!

Led by our Technical Director, Jack Flaman, and the Whalers development team, players got the season underway with conditioning sessions and plenty of energy on the ice.

A new season is officially underway, and we’re excited for all the practices, games, friendships and memories ahead.

Welcome back to the rink, Whalers — here’s to a great 2026–2027 season!
