Meet Samantha! 🥌

Samantha has been curling since she was just 8 years old. Her love for the sport started early as her parents curled in the Friday night mixed league in Redcliff, AB, and she spent those evenings at the rink with a tiny push-button TV tuned to TGIF and a pink plastic suitcase full of Barbies.

Her favourite position to play is third. She loves sweeping hard, making the key setup shots so the skip’s shots are just a bit easier, and sharing strategy in the house.

This season marks Samantha’s first official year as a coach, though she’s been sharing techniques, strategy tips, and encouragement with fellow curlers for the past decade. Her favourite part of curling is the strategy and she has a deep appreciation for the etiquette and traditions that make the game so special.

Samantha has proudly represented Alberta four times at the National Curling Club Championships, bringing home bronze in 2015, silver in 2017, and gold in 2019. She’s been curling out of the CGC since 2007, and fun fact: she even got married on sheet 5!
