What Basic Training Actually Is:

Basic Training is the entry point for everyone in Earned Fitness — no exceptions, no skipping it.

Its job is narrow and specific: prove you can be consistent, and start building real awareness of your own body. That's it.

It's not about intensity. It's not about aesthetics. It's not a performance program. Those things come later, once the foundation is actually in place.

Basic Training's only real question is: can you show up, pay attention, and follow through — for 90 days straight?

Earned Fitness is live — the first cohort of Basic Training is already a few days in!

Here’s what you get: a full 91-day, 13-week Basic Training program, built week by week, with daily guidance and a simple way to log how you’re doing.

You start simple, build up in stages, and by the end you’re ready for your first real rank evaluation.

Enrollment is rolling — your Day 1 starts the first Monday after you register. If you want in, comment “EARNED” below or send me a message and I’ll get you set up.

Your body was a gift. Your rank is earned.

The 2 most common reasons people don't start a fitness routine: "I don't have time” and “I don't want to fail again."

Basic Training, the entry point for Earned Fitness, addresses exactly that.

It starts with only 10 to 15 minutes a day.

One mobility block, one stretching block, one honest note about how your body felt.

That's it for the first two weeks. It gets a little fuller from there, but it never asks for more than you can actually sustain.

The test is never how hard the workout is.

The test is whether you can show up and pay attention for 90 days straight.

If you can do that, you're already doing something most people never manage.

Quick way to think about your body:

it's a system, not a collection of separate parts.

If your ankle doesn't move well, your knee and hip compensate to keep you walking.

That compensation means somewhere else in your body is doing more work to cover for something doing less. Now multiply that by the ~5,000 steps most of us take a day.

It's the same idea as a car — if your alignment's off or your e-brake is dragging, your engine works harder just to go the same speed. You don't fix that with a bigger engine. You fix the actual problem.

That's the whole idea behind the first stage of Earned Fitness (called Basic Training): find your weakest links and get your body working the way it's supposed to — before worrying about anything else.

Why I Built This (founder story)

I got my black belt in taekwondo a long time ago, and one thing stuck with me: nobody hands you a belt. You earn it, in front of people, through a real standard.

Fitness doesn't usually work that way. Most programs sell you intensity - go hard, go home, repeat until you burn out or get hurt. So I combined what I know about health and human movement with what martial arts taught me about earning something real, and built Earned Fitness: a ranking system where you prove consistency and function before anything else, and you actually earn the next level.

This weekend I'm opening it up to a small first group. If that's you, keep reading over the next couple of posts.

Most fitness programs fail because they start too hard and burn people out before the habit sticks.

I flipped that.

I’m a black belt in taekwondo, and I built Earned Fitness as a ranking system — you earn real ranks, White through Black, the same way you’d earn a belt. It starts dead simple, 10 to 15 minutes a day, and the test isn’t how hard you work — it’s whether you show up and pay attention to your own body for 90 days straight.

That’s Basic Training, the entry point for everyone. From there you build real function, strength, and body awareness in stages, all the way to Blue belt — what I call the Optimal Human level.

It’s fitness you actually earn, not another program you quit by February.

Something I've been building for a while is finally becoming real: Earned Fitness.

It's a rank-based fitness system — think of it like earning a belt in martial arts, except the belt is your actual physical function, strength, and self-knowledge. You start at Basic Training. You earn your way up through White, Yellow, Green, Blue, Red, and Black. Nobody skips a rank. Nobody buys their way to the top.

More on how it works over the next few days. If you've ever started a fitness program in January and quietly quit by March, this one's built differently.

Your body was a gift. Your rank is earned.
