2026-27 CRUSADERS COACHING ANNOUNCEMENT

Congratulations to the future CRUSADERS COACHES.

Thank you for volunteering your time to better our players.

You are receiving this email and we have redesigned the sign up for the AGM to address multiple members of a family attending, assigning voting rights and also weighted voting during the meeting. Sorry for the inconvenience, but this is required to ensure a fair voting process and proper weights assigned to votes as Zoom has some system limitations and we are using alternate voting platforms. Please read carefully the information provided and the new link is at the bottom of the page.

Important: AGM Registration and Player Representative Declaration for the AGM

As we prepare for the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM), we will be using an electronic voting system to manage our ballots. To ensure a smooth and secure process, all members who wish to attend must register and provided declaration by April 29th at 4:00 PM.

To attend, you must be a member in good standing. This is defined as follows in the WCMHA constitution: A member that is not currently suspended, and does not owe money to WCMHA or other hockey association(s) within Hockey Canada

How Voting Works According to the WCMHA Constitution, voting is allocated as one vote per registered player. If a player is under 18 years of age, the vote is exercised by a "Player Representative" (usually a parent or guardian).

You must be present in the AGM in order to vote.

Action Required: Household Declaration Because the electronic system allows for weighting value on a ballot rather than the "one person/one vote" protocol that is standard in Zoom polls, households with multiple family members attending or multiple children registered must decide who will cast the ballot(s).

When you cast your ballot, when you are voting for a role and if you have multiple votes, they will all be given to the selected candidate. If you wish to be able to split then you can do that by splitting what parent represents what child.

If you have one child: Please decide which parent/guardian will act as the Player Representative.

If you have multiple children: You may assign one parent to cast all votes, or split the representation (e.g., Parent A represents Child 1, and Parent B represents Child 2).

We kindly ask that you discuss this within your household and submit your declaration via this form. The email address you note on this form will be the one used to vote with, so remember how you signed up to vote.

Why Registration is Mandatory This information is required to audit our membership list and ensure the correct "weighting" is applied to your electronic ballot. This ensures that every player in the association is fairly represented.

Deadline: April 29th at 4:00 PM In order to allow our team time to verify voter eligibility and set up the secure balloting system, we cannot accept registrations after this time.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping us run a fair and efficient election.

The WCMHA Executive is pleased to announce the appointment of Conor Rolland as Referee-in-Chief (RIC) through the end of the 2026/2027 season. After a multi-year vacancy, Conor’s arrival provides our association with a dedicated leader to mentor and develop our local officiating crew.

About Conor Rolland
A resident of Carp and a WCSS alumnus, Conor brings an impressive hockey resume to the WCMHA:

Playing Experience: A former AAA Ottawa Senators captain and Junior B player (Almonte, Perth, and Metcalfe).

Officiating & Leadership: A D4 level official with experience up to U18 AA/AAA. He previously served as Assistant GM for the Arnprior Packers and has worked extensively in player mentorship.

Professional Skills: As a professional HR Specialist, Conor excels in conflict resolution and effective communication—skills he will use to support our refs in high-pressure situations.

Building Our Crew
Conor is focused on being a hands-on mentor for our younger officials. Being local to the Carp and Kinburn arenas, he will be a regular, accessible presence at the rink to provide on-site support and guidance.

"I am eager to contribute to our district’s hockey community and provide the mentorship our younger officials need to grow and succeed." — Conor Rolland

Please join us in welcoming Conor to the team!

WCMHA Annual General Meeting (AGM) Details & Q&A Protocol
To all West Carleton Minor Hockey Association members,

The WCMHA Board of Directors met on April 6th to finalize the preparations for our upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM). To ensure a familiar experience for our membership, the meeting will follow the same agenda format and flow used in previous years.

As we continue with an online format, we are committed to ensuring a meeting that is productive, transparent, and respectful of everyone's time. To achieve this, we are implementing a 72-hour advance submission policy for all questions.

Governance & The 72-Hour Question Protocol
Pre-submitting questions is a recognized good governance practice for virtual meetings. This structure ensures:

Constructive Discussions: It allows the Board to gather necessary data and provide thorough, well-researched responses.

Efficient Flow: It helps us manage the meeting flow effectively, ensuring we stay on schedule.

Accuracy: It ensures your voice is heard clearly without the risk of technical or "chat" delays during the live session.

Submission Deadline: Please submit your questions by April 26th @ 7pm EST to via the following submission form - https://forms.gle/YQoukAq2oVw2jwPR7

Please note that no questions will be accepted from the floor during the meeting unless time permits at the conclusion of the agenda.

AGM Agenda
A. Call to Order – President

B. President's Report

C. Board of Directors’ Reports

D. Election of Board of Directors

E. Election Results

F. New Business, Questions & Answers (Based on 72-hour submissions)

G. Adjournment

Your participation and feedback are vital to the success of our association. We look forward to a constructive meeting as we work together to guide the future of West Carleton hockey.

Sincerely,

The WCMHA Board of Directors

Kind regards,

Chris Havey

What an incredible season for our U10 Crusaders! This group battled hard all year and earned their spot in the league semi-finals, a true testament to their teamwork, growth and determination.A big thank you to Coach Kevin Baird and the entire bench staff for their leadership, dedication and commitment to developing these players both on and off the ice. We would also like to give a shoutout to for hosting an amazing year-end celebration and for generously sponsoring our team. While it’s a bittersweet end to the season we couldn’t be more proud of this group for giving it their all every single game.
