The pandemic has resulted in unprecedented job losses and business closures. Women are disproportionately feeling the brunt of these losses; they are clearly in the bullseye of this pandemic! Unfortunately, even after this pandemic ends, there would be limited job opportunities for women to go back to.
The question for us was, how can we help?
The choice to set up a cooperative as a solution came easy as it strongly resonated with the Blooming Ladies’ ethos of cooperation and collaboration. With this model, women will enjoy business ownership and control thus making sure that the company represents the best interests of all members
We are crowdfunding for the flagship product of the cooperative – BLOOMLANCER – a co-operatively owned online female freelancer platform has now become our innovative response to a COVID situation.
The platform is therefore designed to help thousands of women in the community that can't go back to work or have had to watch their businesses dwindle or fold up regain a vibrant opportunity to become economically viable once more.
