MEDAL ALERT! 🥈 Two medals for Boardworks in two days! Keira Lu won her second Pan Am Junior medal placing 2nd in the Girls B 1 metre event in Tucson today. Keira also won silver at the 2017 Pan Am Junior Championships in the Girls D 1 metre event . Congratulations Keira!

T minus 1 day! Boardworks divers Ben Smyth, Keira Lu and Renee Batalla, along with Boardworks coach Tommy McLeod are getting ready to represent Canada at the 2021 UANA Junior Pan American Diving Championships in Tucson, Arizona, October 7-10. Ben will compete in the Bots A 1metre and 3 metre events, Leira in the Girls B 1 metre and 3 metre events and Renee will compete in the Girls B Platform event. From OlympicGarten to the Olympics: Parent Version. When Boardworks parent alumni Rodd McCormick, father of two-time Olympian Riley McCormick, produced and announced at his first OlympicGarten Recital in 2000, never did he think that he would land a job as Venue Producer for diving at two Olympic Games. At both the Rio 2016 Olympics and Tokyo 2020, Rodd is responsible for all sport protocol, athlete and fan engagement at the diving venue.

That means he prepares the timelines, scripts and cue sheets for all activity that happens inside the venue and manages all video production, music, entertainment, announcers, audio operators, lighting, hosts and victory ceremonies.

All things they show in the venue ,including athlete and officials introductions and then first dive and any activity during any breaks as well as post-event celebrations are coordinated by Rodd.

According to Rodd “It’s a natural progression don’t you think. Kid in the sport. Announcer, supporter, sponsor to producer at the Olympics? 😎. All because of Boardworks”.

Two-time Olympian and Boardworks alumni Riley McCormick was only 16 years old when he competed in the Men’s 10m platform event in 2008. At 20 he placed 11th in the same event in London in 2012.
