Something unexpected happened in the middle of a business retreat over the last 24 hours. And I have to share it. 🔥
After 1.5 years of building the Peak State Curriculum, I finally took a full day to STOP 🛑 and strip everything back to its most essential truth. And in that moment of radical simplicity... a door opened.
I found a TEDx email in my inbox. One I'd somehow never seen. And in the list of global opportunities, there was a TEDx event happening THIS MARCH at the University of Toronto Mississauga campus.
The campus that is:
• 5 minutes from where I grew up
• 5 minutes from where I got married
• Where I played soccer as a kid
• Where I did science competition lab work in high school
And the theme?
✨ BREAKTHROUGHS. ✨
I have spent years helping high-performing leaders understand that breakthrough isn't something you push harder to earn. It's what becomes available when you stop white-knuckling through life and return to who you actually are.
That IS my work. And this felt like a full-body YES.
So I submitted my application. Here's what I wrote when they asked about the impact I hoped to create:
"I want every person in that audience who has been holding it together on the outside while quietly struggling on the inside to feel seen; possibly for the first time. I want them to leave with a fundamentally different relationship to breakthrough: not as something they have to earn through sacrifice, but as something that becomes available when they stop performing and start returning to who they actually are. And I don't just want them to hear that. I want them to experience it. Within the talk itself, I'll guide the audience through a brief but powerful exercise designed to create their first moment of that inner return."
I'm speaking this dream out loud because dreams need to be witnessed to come alive.
If this resonates with you. If you know someone who would benefit from this message reaching a TEDx audience. Please share this post. And set the intention with me. 🙏
>> Here's my question for you: When was the last time YOU had a real breakthrough. Not because you pushed harder, but because you finally let go of something?
I'd love to hear your story below.
