My name is Justin, and I’ve been a goalie since I was 7 years old (1988). I’ve basically spent my entire hockey life in the crease — and I’m still playing today. I started in the old-school stand-up style and, over the years, taught myself the modern way of goaltending. One thing I’ve learned: goalies need instruction that’s tailored to their unique role — and that’s something most team practices
just don’t provide. I’ve always loved playing net, but as I get older and my body reminds me after every game, I know my time in the crease is limited. I love sharing what I’ve learned with others who are just starting out. I’m not a professional hockey player. I’ve never played Junior or at a high level — and this page isn’t aimed at elite or advanced goalies. It’s for newer goalies learning the position, especially those in house league to A-level hockey. I know how expensive goalie training can be — often $140 an hour or more — and that’s not what I’m here for. I’m not trying to make a living off this. I just love being on the ice, being part of the game, and helping others who share that same passion for goaltending. I was lucky to have great coaches when I was coming up through minor hockey. Now, it’s my turn to pay it forward.
