Does your child need a positive outlet for their energy?

At Miyazato Karate Do School, we believe Karate is more than just a sport; it’s a foundation for life. Located right here in Bracebridge, our home dojo offers a space where kids don’t just learn kicks; they build character.

We focus on:
🥋 Focus & Self-Control: Learning to calm the mind.
🥋 Respect: For others, for the dojo, and for themselves.
🥋 Confidence: A steady growth that shows up in the classroom and at home.
🥋 Authenticity: This is traditional Karate Do. No trophies, no pressure, no competition, just pure personal growth.

Classes are small, welcoming, and open to all levels (ages 5+).

📍 Join us at our home dojo in Bracebridge.

In tournaments, you win or lose.
In Karate Do, you only grow.
Traditional Karate Do is not a sport, it’s a path. Every class, every kata, every bow is a practice in becoming a better person.
At Miyazato School, we teach karate the traditional way: not to produce champions on a podium, but to form people of strong character, respect, and integrity.
That’s what Do means the Way.

Did you know the Miyazato School made history in sustainability?
Back in 2018, the Miyazato School stood out by becoming the first institution of its kind in the world to obtain a GRI certification.

What does it mean? GRI stands for Global Reporting Initiative, an international organization that sets standards for measuring and communicating sustainability impact. It guides institutions, companies, or schools to report transparently on how they affect the environment, society, and the economy.

In simple terms: The School doesn’t just aim to train karate practitioners.
It also seeks to create a positive impact on society and the environment.

A new chapter begins for our Miyazato School.

Sensei Masatoshi Miyazato’s journey to Okinawa is not only a return to the roots — it is a firm step toward the future. The opening of a new dojo in the land where Karate-Do was born represents much more than an achievement: it is the building of a bridge between Argentina and Japan.

A path that brings together tradition, history, and values… with the commitment to continue transmitting Karate-Do with the same essence as always.

🥋 A legacy that continues to grow

The hardest belt is the white belt, it is not because of the techniques. It means difficult is starting.

For many adults, beginning something new can feel uncomfortable. It means stepping out of your routine,
trying something you’ve never done before,
and allowing yourself to be a beginner again.

Some hesitate because they feel out of shape.
Others because they think they are too late to start.
Many simply feel unsure.

At Miyazato Karate Do School, we understand that.

🌸 There is no pressure to perform.
🌸 No competition.
🌸 Just a space to begin, move and build something step by step.

Everyone starts somewhere.

If you’ve been thinking about it, this might be the right moment to begin.

Karate can become a space to pause, move and reset.

You don’t need previous experience.
Training follows natural movements that work with the body, helping improve mobility, coordination and overall well-being.

Many adulta come to class looking for physical activity, and discover something more — a moment in the week to disconnect, reduce stress and reconnect with themselves.

If you feel karate is a good path for your child, it can be just as meaningful for you.

Karate becomes a practice you can carry through life.

Classes take place at Muskoka Lumber Community Centre.

Registration is available through Bracebridge Recreation.
