BBHA Playoff Recap: Semifinals Complete
Well that’s a wrap on the semifinals.
It’s been a wild season at the BBHA, and just like the opening round, both semifinal series ended in sweeps. The road to the 4 Counties Cup Championship is now set, but not before another incredible week of ball hockey.
Thamesville Knights 5 – Bin Boyz 6
Ball hockey rewards the relentless, and the Bin Boyz proved exactly that.
In what was easily one of the most dramatic games of the season, the Bin Boyz punched their ticket to their first-ever 4 Counties Cup Championship with a heartbreaking goal for the Knights coming with just 40 seconds remaining in regulation.
This game was a battle from start to finish. Chances were limited, but every shot seemed to carry enormous weight. The Bin Boyz appeared to have things under control with a 5-2 lead, but the Knights showed why they have been one of the toughest teams in the league all season. Refusing to quit, Thamesville clawed their way back and tied the game with less than two minutes remaining.
Jarret Scarrow was absolutely flying, putting together a dominant four-point performance. Cam Duquette added two goals, while Ty McEacheron matched him with a pair of his own. Overtime felt inevitable and the crowd could feel it.
Then came the moment.
With just 40 seconds left, Bin Boyz captain Kohen Cudney found the back of the net for his second goal of the game, delivering the biggest goal in franchise history and sending the youngest team in the BBHA to the championship round.
He wasn’t alone. Caden Evans continued his outstanding playoff run with two goals and an assist as the Bin Boyz completed the sweep and earned a date with the Crow City Kings.
Despite the loss, the Knights leave with plenty to be proud of. The league’s best defensive team all season paired elite structure with explosive offensive talent. They battled until the final horn and walked off the floor with their heads held high. If this season proved anything, it’s that the Knights never quit. Expect them to be right back in the hunt in 2027 chasing a second championship.

Crow City Kings 5 – BARAC Bandits 0
This was not the game many expected.
The Bandits, a team built on structure, discipline, and hard work, found themselves unable to solve the Kings’ defense in a must-win game. Whether it was nerves or simply a Kings team executing its game plan to perfection, the Bandits couldn’t generate the offense they needed.
The Kings, meanwhile, came in with one objective: reach the finals.
Mission accomplished.
Joey Ray led the charge with four points while Jay Verscheure added three of his own as Crow City secured a convincing victory and completed the series sweep.
In goal, Ethan Parr was outstanding, shutting the door completely and recording a shutout performance. His message to the Bin Boyz was clear: the Kings are not just happy to be here.
Crow City has been one of the most disciplined teams in the league all season. They are patient, hardworking, and willing to wait for the perfect opportunity to strike. That formula has carried them all the way to the championship round in their very first BBHA season.

After months of competition, rivalries, highlight-reel goals, and unforgettable moments, the BBHA is down to its final matchup.
A huge congratulations to both the Thamesville Knights and BARAC Bandits on incredible seasons. Following their eliminations, both teams showed exactly what BBHA hockey is all about, exchanging handshakes, hugs, and well wishes with their opponents. The competition may be fierce, but respect always wins when the final whistle blows.
That’s why the BBHA continues to be the premier ball hockey league in Chatham-Kent and the surrounding area.
Now all eyes turn to the championship.
