🐴 Pepper’s Official Statement on His Diet 🐴

Pepper would like everyone to know that he believes his current dietary restrictions are unfair, unreasonable, and possibly a violation of his constitutional rights. 😂

According to Pepper, the fact that other horses get things he doesn’t is a personal attack. The fact that his hay is weighed is offensive. And the fact that his humans won’t let him gorge himself on grass is proof that nobody loves him.

Unfortunately for Pepper, he is insulin resistant, which means his body doesn’t respond to insulin properly. When insulin levels remain elevated, it can significantly increase the risk of laminitis—a painful and potentially devastating condition affecting the feet.

So while Pepper believes he should be allowed unlimited snacks, grass buffets, and a second breakfast, his humans disagree. 🤦‍♀️

The good news is that we are actively working with our amazing veterinarian at Wise Equine to get his insulin levels under control and help him become healthier and more comfortable.

For horses and ponies with insulin resistance, management is incredibly important and typically includes:
✅ Low sugar (low NSC) forage
✅ Controlled calorie intake when weight loss is needed
✅ Limited or carefully managed pasture access
✅ Regular exercise when appropriate
✅ Monitoring body condition and metabolic health

The goal isn’t to starve them—it’s actually the opposite. The goal is to provide the right nutrition while avoiding the sugars and starches that can trigger metabolic problems and increase the risk of laminitis.

Pepper remains unconvinced.

He would like everyone to know that he is currently being subjected to what he describes as “extreme hardship” and “cruel hay rationing.”

We would like everyone to know that Pepper is, in fact, well-fed, well-loved, and simply dramatic. 💀😂

Thank you to the team at Wise Equine for helping us keep this handsome little potato healthy while he continues his campaign for unlimited snacks.

🐴✨ A Little Extra Care for a Very Special Filly ✨🐴
Today, Gerard from Full Stride Equine Performance stopped by to work his magic on Baby Grace and give her very first chiropractic adjustment.

For those who have been following Grace's story, you know she has already overcome more in her short life than most horses ever will. After a traumatic delivery, a stay in the ICU, and weeks of specialized care, every step forward feels like a blessing.

As Grace continues to grow and develop, ensuring her body is functioning comfortably and correctly is an important part of her recovery and future success. Chiropractic care can help support proper movement, balance, and overall wellness—especially for a young horse whose body has already endured so much.

We are incredibly grateful to have knowledgeable professionals like Gerard in our horses' corner. His dedication to helping horses feel and perform their best is evident in every horse he works with, from tiny miracle foals to seasoned performance athletes.
Thank you, Gerard, for taking such wonderful care of our little Grace. She may not know it yet, but she has a whole team of people cheering her on every step of the way. 💛
If you're looking for someone who truly cares about equine wellness and performance, we highly recommend Full Stride Equine Performance.

🐴✨ Take a look around the horse show grounds and you'll notice something special — healthy toplines, shiny coats, bright eyes, and horses in ideal body condition.
That doesn't happen by accident.

At Infinity Equine, the health and well-being of our horses starts with Heidi's carefully designed forage-first feed program. Rather than relying heavily on traditional grain feeds, our nutrition program focuses on providing quality forage, balanced vitamins and minerals, healthy fats, and individualized nutrition tailored to each horse's needs.
Our feeding philosophy emphasizes: ✨ Gut health ✨ Low-NSC nutrition ✨ Proper mineral balance ✨ Healthy muscle development and toplines ✨ Long-term soundness and wellness

The results speak for themselves. Whether they're competing in the show ring, tackling cross-country, or enjoying life at home, our horses look and feel their best because nutrition is treated as a foundation, not an afterthought.

We're incredibly proud of the horses representing Infinity Equine this weekend and the care that goes into keeping them healthy, happy, and performing at their best. 💜💛💚
