In Flow with Natalie

In Flow with Natalie Loves Movement & Flow, Photography, Creativity, Yoga teacheršŸ§˜šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø Student of life After almost 30 years in my professional career, I've been "finding my flow".

Outside the office, my passion was always learning about health, nutrition, fitness and health-span - educating myself in this arena throughout most of my adult life. I've always loved movement, spending much of my career chasing intense fitness classes, running and pushing myself hard. - convinced that the only way to balance long days at a desk was to push myself even harder outside work. I even

tually discovered this was not the right path! A few years ago I fell in love with yoga, discovering that its benefits went beyond fitness, finding the value of breath in movement, and so much more. Beyond the mat, I believe in living the ethical principles of yoga, the yamas and niyamas. I maintain my personal yoga practice, teach, and continue to enjoy all movement (walking, SUP, kayaking,& BODi workouts (for over 15 years). I love to photography, painting, and finding the awe in the simple beauty of a moment. My passion for learning about well-being and health continues, and I maintain a clean-eating lifestyle. In 2024 I completed a 40 HR kundalini yoga course (Shanti) , and Level 1 Qigong (Halifax Yoga); and in 2025, I obtained my 200 HR YTT certification (Shanti School of Traditional Yoga, Dartmouth NS). I am working toward my 300 HR training to achieve 500 HR designation. I am also a Member of the Yoga Alliance. As a yoga teacher, and a forever student of yoga, I want to share yoga with others. I am currently teaching smaller group classes, where I offer a welcoming space for individuals (businesses also welcome)to experience the value of breath and movement, awareness in body and mind; taking that needed pause to maintain balance. I also strongly believe that we can incorporate the values of yoga in the workplace - for both personal balance, and corporate success. I have many ideas on this topic that I feel can serve the workplace well. I also host and produce a podcast "The Finding Sessions", sharing reflections on life, and guided meditations. It's my hope that in sharing these reflections and meditations it may help others who may be on their own journey of self-discovery. [This particular project has been a personal one for me - and one that allowed me to break through my professional mask, and my fear of being honest with myself, and others]. In this next phase, I want to share all that is in FLOW - movement, yoga, art, photography, creativity, and positivity. "My wish for you is to live in positivity, health and harmony".

Early morning gifts… warm sunshine, the sound of the birds, and some images around me (including those annuals that have blossomed beautifully this year - once again)! Oh,…. And how can two little dahlia plants bring so much joy every single day? … check out that driftwood in the water, three little sharks?

Taking joy in the little things, like when your annuals decide to bloom another year! Yay!!! 🌸 ā¤ļø

Just sharing a very informative video on foot health! The importance of strong feet, toe splay, and wearing appropriate footwear ! Worth watching. ļæ¼

Dang, I wish I didn’t spend 30+ years, wearing high heels most of the time ( in the name of fashion!). Now I don’t wear heels at all (pretty much can’t )

While I know there has recently been an increased tendency for menopause to be blamed for all kinds of issues, including hip issues, and other aches and pains, we have to consider that the mechanical changes to our bodies after decades of sitting at a desk and wearing high heels, etc., etc. had to have played some role, and possibly a significant one.

Not to mention, when we stop wearing heels, our body has to adjust to a completely different posture, movement, etc. I’m pretty sure it’s possible that some of the hip pain and other issues comes from the adjustments our bodies have to make after what may seem like sudden changes to footwear, movement patterns, etc.

Hopefully, the younger generations of women will avoid squeezing their feet into high heels like we did!

(PS, this is not an episode focussed on dementia, it’s more about the feet and foot health. Unfortunately, the titles that are often given are intended to draw more attention I guess!}
