It is with deep regret that the Bassano Beavers USPHL Premier team, located in Bassano, Alberta, has officially ceased operations for the 2025/2026 season as of October 17th.
When we decided to bring the USPHL to Bassano, we set out to create a strong player development program that is in line with the USPHL mission. As we could not achieve our goal by the deadline imposed by the schedule, we felt it was better suited to suspend operations for the current season rather than put an incomplete product on the ice.
The community of Bassano has shown incredible support for us in the short amount of time we've spent trying to establish the Beavers, and it is truly heartbreaking that we could not give this community the program it deserves this season.
We feel that Bassano is the ideal location for a USPHL Premier team, and we look forward to the prospect of returning for the 2026 season.
