“Where science meets spirit: Ann Green brings • STRETCH • to Downtown Barrie
STRETCH is the culmination of over thirty five years across elite athletics, exercise science, yoga therapy, brain health, nervous system education, and high performance coaching.
A former world-class athlete and credentialed wellness educator is redefining what it means to move, heal, and understand yourself - right here in Barrie.
The office is modest. The view is not. Ann Green's sanctuary sits in beautiful downtown Barrie, by the water, and it's become a quiet haven for athletes in rest + recovery intelligence, for high-achieving professionals healing from burnout, and anyone open to believing their body has wisdom worth listening to: feeling.
Green holds an MSc in Exercise Science, another in Community Health, and credentials as a 500E-RYT yoga therapist, brain-based high performance coach, and is part-time faculty professor who directs Seneca Polytechnic's student resiliency program. She's CEO of SHiNE OM INC. and COO of STRETCH. And she's completely unapologetic that none of those titles tell you what she actually does.
What she does is this: She helps people understand themselves.
The athlete's return
Green was a world-class track and field athlete. That life demanded everything: precision, power, nervous system calibration that separated champions from everyone else. When injury ended that chapter abruptly, she didn't retire from movement. She disappeared from the competition of it. For years.
"I had to grieve that identity," she says. "And I had to ask myself: who am I if I'm not performing at that elite level?"
The question led her back, but differently. She began running along waterfront paths. Returned to cycling, paddleboarding, hiking; not to train or optimize, but to move. To remember what it felt like to inhabit her body without agenda.
That reclamation became personal research. Personal research became clinical application. And that evolution became • STRETCH •
More than a rebrand
Her previous brand was BLISS² Embodied Therapy. The work was beautiful. But something needed to shift.
STRETCH arrived as both homage and philosophy. Her sister, who carried "Stretch" as her nickname, WAS her fiercest believer. When others questioned Ann's unconventional vision of health and body-mind integration, her sister never wavered. She saw what Ann was building before the world did. That belief, that foundation, is woven into the name.
And, there's more. STRETCH is the culmination of over thirty five years across elite athletics, exercise science, yoga therapy, brain health, nervous system education, and high performance coaching. It represents a fundamental shift in how she works.
"STRETCH isn't about becoming more flexible," Green says. "It's about becoming more adaptable."
At its core: we live in a world that teaches us to brace. To push harder. To achieve the next goal. But the nervous system learns a dangerous lesson: that safety means readiness, that arrival is never enough. STRETCH unravels that.
"We're very good at teaching people how to push," she explains. "I'm interested in teaching people how to listen. How to feel."
The science-spirit integration
Walk into her studio and you won't see clinical posters. You'll see thoughtful space, water, light, plants. A teacher who meets you exactly where you are.
But behind that simplicity is rigorous work: BRAIN.STORM protocols for post-concussion athletes rebuilding neural pathways. Periodized strength for young athletes. Neuroprotection consulting for alpine skiers. Research on semaglutide outcomes, glycine and magnesium supplementation, red light + PEMF therapy for nervous system recalibration. Medical IV Micronutrient Therapy.
This is where ancient yoga therapeutics align with modern physiology. Where science and spirit stop being oppositional and become collaborators. Where nervous system literacy, movement + rest intelligence, capacity-building, and presence become the actual methodology. The STRETCH Method.
She's built a 1000+ hour curriculum. Developing the STRETCH Method as an evolving school, not simply a studio. Professional education, workshops, recovery protocols, high-performance coaching: all part of this expansion.
Why Barrie matters
Her reach is global. carries thought leadership across hundreds of thousands of followers. drives education enrollment. Courses, consulting, corporate resilience programs span continents.
"But there's nothing like in-person," Green says. "There's nothing like this space, by the water, where people can actually feel what it means to come home to themselves."
The nervous system learns through presence. In the now. Through being in a room with someone who has done their own deep work and stands in it fully. Downtown Barrie, this corner with the waterfront beyond, is where that happens. Where elite athletes work through return-to-play. Where yoga students dive into therapeutic training. Where the philosophy actually lands in the body.
Resilience redefined
There's one final thing worth knowing: Green built her entire philosophy on something most wellness culture won't touch; the idea that goals might be restraining you.
High-achievers don't need another target. They need arrival. The nervous system can't distinguish between "I haven't achieved yet" and "I'm in danger." So the body stays braced. Never fully lands.
"You're not burned out," she tells clients. "You're undernourished."
"Resilience isn't how much pressure you can tolerate," she explains. "It's how well you can adapt, recover, and return. I refer to it as malleability.”
STRETCH is the recalibration. The capacity to be, not just do. The evolution from teaching people how to move into helping them understand how they move + feel through life itself.
