That’s a wrap for the BCC season. Our final event was 6 teams participating in the annual Jam Can. The Junior curlers enjoyed three games, hotdogs, cupcakes, cookies, ice-cream and a take home treat bag. Metals were presented to the top teams.
Many thanks to all of our coaches and volunteers. They coached 38 Junior Little Rock’s curlers during 8 weeks of lessons. Thank you Evelyn for organizing both of these events. Coaches Glenn, Aiden, Kathleen, Terry, Dale, Jessie, Jeannie, Sarah and John shared their knowledge and enthusiasm for the game. Thank you to the parent volunteers who helped with preparing the snacks every week.
Come on down to the Curling Club on April 25th for our Annual Flea Market. Phone Joan at 1-604-328-8971 or email [email protected] to book your table or drop off your donated items. See you at the Market.

You may not know that BCC is one of two Curling Clubs in the province that is a not-for-profit Club owned and managed by its members. We rely on Grants, Fund raising such as advertising, Bingo, concessions and rentals for our maintenance and operational costs. The businesses that advertise at our club are part of Barriere’s Curling team. This year we updated our existing advertisers and welcomed new local businesses to our family. As we are delivering our rocks and strategizing the game your businesses smile down at us and we sweep that much harder knowing we have your support. A huge THANK YOU to our new advertisers, Remax Integrity, Taseko Yellowhead, Ward Stamer MLA, The Local Artisan Market, Oasis Water Refill, Savvy Solutions Canada, Armour Mountain Bookeeping & Tax and The Print Room for your support. We are grateful for the continued support from our established advertisers MJB Lawyers, AG Foods, NT Fall Fair and Rodeo, IDA Pharmacy, Barriere Timber Mart, Thompson Valley Awards, Monte Carlo Motel, Barriere Country Feeds, Interior Savings Insurance and Rainer Custom Cutting. Many have been with BCC 35+ years! Enjoy viewing our signage wall and don’t forget to support and thank those that support us!

Heres another example of our little community working towards a healthy home for all. A huge THANK YOU to Mikael Kjellstrom our Community Paramedic from BC Emergency Health Services for spending time with us at the Barriere Curling Club. He was comprehensive, professional and very patient teaching us the proper procedure for our AED equipment. The BCC was able to purchase this vital piece of equipment due to a grant from North Thompson Community Foundations. 3 groups working together for our community. Remember to take in the Free Vitals Clinic every Tuesday at the Seniors Centre. Staying healthy and current for you.🥌

Happiness is………..🥌🥌
An entranceway full of backpacks and boots indicating a full house of Little Rock’s curlers.
A sea of assorted helmuted heads.
A gaggle of laughing, talking little curlers.
Having to order more grippers for small feet.
It’s ‘all hands on deck’ coaching 32-36 Little Rocks curlers on the technique and finer points of the game. The program is going well and is a hit this year.🥌🥌

A huge Thank You to Barriere Royal Canadian Legion for their generous donation towards our next kitchen project. It is only thru local donations that we can improve and maintain the Curling Club facility. The Legion gave donations to over a dozen organizations-this is why the Meat Draw needs your support. Here’s a great picture of two Presidents! Maryanne Sewchuk of RCL and Jeannie Webber of BCC. 👏🏻👏🏻
