That’s a wrap for the 2026 Cooling Centre. Thank you to those that graced our door. Hopefully we will see you next year.
The ice won’t be in for awhile but the Barriere Curling members are busy, busy. Regular maintenance projects to keep the facility in tip top shape kept a four man crew busy. Thank you President, Glenn Evans, Darin Underhill, John Cleland and Dale Moores for reinforcing our Emergency Exit stairs. A huge Thank You to TNRD Area O Jill Hayward for a grant for this much needed project. 👍🛠️🪚🪜👏🏻🙌🏻 Our club wishes to congratulate our Junior member Eva-Mae Ekins on being presented, from MP Frank Caputo, the Youth Leadership Award. Great work girl!👍🥇🌟⭐️

We are officially 1/2 way thru the Cooling Centre season. Come on down, we have games, puzzles, books and Cool, Clean air. Free coffee, water and Cool, Clean air. Give your body a mild workout- 10 laps equal 1 klm. It’s cool, clean and level!
Mark your calendars! The BCC is still open and organizing events. Our Winter season Registration Social is scheduled for October 2,2026 @7:00pm. Grab your friends and neighbour’s and register as a team or individually.
The BCC will be busy flipping burgers at the RCMP Musical Ride, the NTFF&Rodeo and BC Agricultural Expo.

It’s that time of the year again. ☀️☀️Summer is in full gear and we all need a break. Come on down to the Barriere Curling Rink for a coffee, for some fun, to relax, to play a game, socialize or exercise. We would love to see you. Open Monday to Friday 10:00 to 5:00 starting Monday July 6th- tomorrow. ✍🏻🚶🏽‍♂️☕️🛼🧩. Bring your laptop; we have free high speed internet.

The Barriere curlers traded in their brooms for golf clubs proving we are a diverse group. The weather cooperated, the greens were fast and the refreshments cool. Fun was had by all! The highly coveted BCC Golf trophy for best score was won by Nico, Ilka, Keisha and Rob. Their team golfed under par! For the ladies KP (closes to the pin) Theresa Young took the honours. Long Drive was won by Marianne Nevins. The Men’s KP was won by Clay Mosdell while Niko took Longest Drive. A HUGE thank you to Glenn Evans and Jeannie Webber for taking the lead on this event. A delicious dinner was provided by Laura Mairs. An assortment of desserts provided by participants. No one left empty handed and everyone got to chose a small gift. A huge congratulations to Barb and Carman Smith who chose to spend their 62nd wedding anniversary with us. ❤️💐🥂

The Barriere Curling Club is prepping, cleaning and organizing our facility preparing for the Flea Market on April 25, 2026 9:00-1:00. Rent a table or come down for a coffee, hot dog and Apple strudel. Phone Joan at 1-604-328-8971 to book your table. Monday morning work bee was all hands on deck for some physical work.
