KIKI ATHLETICS : Building the Future of Endurance Sports on Ambergris Caye
Kiki Athletics was founded with a simple but ambitious vision: to create a sustainable sports culture on Ambergris Caye that develops athletes, strengthens our community, and ultimately creates a pathway for future elite competitors including, one day, an Olympian from our island.
We recognize that every great athlete starts somewhere. That's why our focus begins at the amateur level, providing consistent opportunities for runners of all ages and abilities to participate, improve, and fall in love with the sport. By building a strong foundation through grassroots participation, we can create the environment needed for athletes to progress to elite competition.
Our mission is to establish a monthly race series with age-group divisions, giving youth, and adults regular opportunities to compete in a fun, supportive, and professionally organized environment. Beyond competition, these events promote healthier lifestyles, encourage youth development, strengthen community connections, and inspire the next generation of athletes.
This year marks the beginning of that journey. We will launch with our first two races to introduce the concept, build community engagement, and demonstrate the potential for a consistent race calendar on Ambergris Caye. Our vision extends far beyond these first events, we aim to create an annual race season that becomes a cornerstone of our island's sporting culture.
We invite local businesses, organizations, and community leaders to become founding partners in this initiative.
