Baseball Federation of Belize is on the move!

On Friday, the Baseball Federation of Belize appeared on Open Your Eyes to talk about the growth of baseball in Belize, our upcoming international competition in July 2025, and how you can help us get there!

We were joined by renowned artist Alex Sanker, who is generously donating a one-of-a-kind painting to be raffled in support of the team.

Exciting News for Baseball in Belize! โšพ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ฟ Yes I said baseball.

Today, the Baseball Federation of Belize proudly donated equipment to five primary schools; St. Luke Methodist, St. Martinโ€™s De Porres, Unity Presbyterian, St. Johnโ€™s Vianney, and St. Ignatius RC! With this donation, these schools can now start their own baseball clubs

But thatโ€™s just the beginning! The Federation will be bringing in an international coach to train school coaches, ensuring our young athletes get the best development possible.

Even bigger news! our Belize baseball team is heading to Florida this July to compete!** The players have their visas, but we need your support to cover travel and accommodation costs

This photo was taken sometime between 2018 and 2019 during the early stages of our grassroots baseball revival efforts. At that time, we were meeting just twice a week, mainly because softball dominated access to the field. Despite those limitations, we laid the foundation for what would become a national movement.

Three of the young athletes in this picture: Maurice Muschamp, Tyrell Brooks, and Jashua Chocโ€”have since risen through the ranks and are now proud members of Belizeโ€™s national baseball team. The President of the Federation son, Carlyon Flores jr , whoโ€™s in the red shirt, has been training with us since he was just three years old.

The turning point came in 2021, when we gained regular access to the Gwen Liz High School field. From that moment on, the team started training at least five times a week. That dedication and consistency have been key in shaping a new era of baseball in Belize one built on passion, perseverance, and the belief that our youth deserve every opportunity to shine.

The boys are set to play in Fort Myers FL in July 2025. We ask for your support ๐Ÿ™

On January 5, 2019, the Belize Visionary Foundation of Baseball and Softball made history by hosting a landmark baseball game that reignited a long-dormant passion for the sport in our country. A team from Chetumal, Mexico, was invited to compete against our very own Belizean players, creating a spirit of camaraderie and cross-border sportsmanship. This wasnโ€™t just any game,it was the first official baseball game played on Belizean soil since the summer of 1994!!! The event marked the beginning of a new chapter for baseball in Belize , as players, fans, and supporters gathered to celebrate the return of the sport they love. It was a proud and emotional moment for everyone who had worked tirelessly to bring baseball back to life in Belize.
