With the Diamond League circuit now concluded, our attention turns to the inaugural World Athletics Ultimate Championship, set to take place from 11-13 September 2026 in Budapest, Hungary.

The championship will bring together Olympic Champions, World Champions, Diamond League Champions, and the top 16 ranked athletes of 2026 in selected events to compete for the prestigious title of Ultimate Champion, truly determining the best of the best in world athletics.

Botswana will be represented by six athletes (one female and five males):

• Oratile Nowe - Women's 800m (Ranked 8th)
• Kemorena Tisang - Men's 400m Hurdles (Ranked 15th)
• Lee Eppie - Men's 400m (Ranked 12th)
• Bayapo Ndori - Men's 400m (Ranked 9th)
• Collen Kebinatshipi - Men's 400m World Champion
• Letsile Tebogo - Men's 200m Olympic Champion and Ranked 14th in the Men's 100m

As the blue, white, and black flag flies proudly on the global stage once again, we extend our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to these outstanding athletes as they carry the hopes of the nation to Budapest.

We wish to inform you that the Nhabe International Marathon has been postponed.

📅 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗥𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗲: 𝟮𝟴 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

The marathon was originally scheduled for 26 September 2026.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, the event will now take place on the new date.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank everyone for your patience, understanding and continued support.

The race is postponed the vision is not. 🏃🏾‍♂️🔥

We remain committed to bringing Maun together through running, promoting an active community and supporting the continued development of athletes from Maun and surrounding communities.

Our ambition to raise funds and to build an Athletes’ Village remains part of the journey, creating greater opportunities for athlete's training, development and competition at Maun Track and Field Club.

To our athletes, sponsors, partners, volunteers, officials, vendors, service providers, media and the wider Maun community.

𝗕𝗔𝗔 | 𝗜𝗦𝗣𝗜 𝗨𝗦𝗔-𝗕𝗼𝘁𝘀𝘄𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲 🇧🇼🇺🇸

What a great initiative to see our young athletes given the opportunity to interact, compete and learn alongside key players within the athletics community in Maun.

The Kids Athletics and Schools Competition brought together young athletes from across our local schools, creating a platform for them to showcase their potential while experiencing the excitement and competitive spirit of athletics.

The programme concluded with a meaningful engagement involving coaches, administrators, teachers and our guests from the USA. It was particularly valuable to hear insights and experiences from former athletes who have transitioned into coaching, including coaches and management from Maun Track and Field Club.

For us, this was more than just a competition. It was an opportunity to connect, exchange ideas and open doors for future collaboration.

We sincerely appreciate the ISPI USA-Botswana Exchange Programme for creating a platform that brings together the next generation of athletes and those working to build the sport around them.

We believe engagements such as these can play an important role in strengthening athletics structures in Maun and communities across the North West, while creating more opportunities for our young athletes to learn, grow and aspire. 🇧🇼🏃🏾‍♀️🏃🏾‍♂️

Together, we can build stronger pathways for the next generation.

National Record Alert !!

Kemorena Tisang has once again etched his name into Botswana athletics history with a breathtaking performance at the Memoriał Czesława Cybulskiego in Poznań, Poland. The 110mH National Record holder powered his way to an incredible 48.32 in the 400m hurdles, shattering the National Record while also setting a Meeting Record.

Kemorena continues to raise the bar and showcase Botswana’s growing presence on the international stage.
