Official Statement from Southern City FC
We deeply regret our massive defeat against Paro FC. As a new and growing club, this result has been very painful for our team, management, and supporters.
Southern City FC was built through the love and support of our community. One of our proudest achievements has been bringing the Bhutan Premier League to Gelephu for the very first time—something that would not have been possible without your encouragement.
Our club is operated by individuals without strong financial background and without big sponsors, as we are still striving to gain popularity and recognition. While we have managed to provide our players with good, fully facilitated apartments, we admit that due to rising expenses and financial challenges, we have been unable to pay player salaries on time. With no other options and with a heavy heart, we have also had to release some of our players.
Despite these struggles, our spirit remains strong. We kindly ask our fans and the people of Gelephu to keep supporting and loving Southern City FC. Your encouragement is our greatest strength as we continue representing Gelephu in the top tier of Bhutanese football.
Together, we will grow stronger.
