TEAM EVENT COMPLETE 🇧🇸🎲

The group stage of the WBGF World Championships Team Event has officially come to an end for Team Bahamas.

Our final results:

🇫🇮 Finland 5 – Bahamas 0
🇩🇪 Germany 3 – Bahamas 2
🇷🇴 Romania 5 – Bahamas 0
🇺🇸 USA 4 – Bahamas 1
🇬🇮 Gibraltar 5 – Bahamas 0
🇫🇷 France 3 – Bahamas 2

Unfortunately, these results mean Team Bahamas will not advance to the next stage of the Team Event.

While we would have loved to see the team go further, we’re incredibly proud to have had The Bahamas represented on the world stage, competing against some of the strongest backgammon teams from around the world.

And the tournament is far from over.

Today is a lay day while the Team Event concludes, and tomorrow the World Individual Championships begin, with all of our Team Bahamas players taking part. 🇧🇸

DAY ONE IS IN THE BOOKS 🇧🇸🎲

Team Bahamas wrapped up the first day of competition at the WBGF World Championships in London with three hard-fought matches.

🇫🇮 Finland 5 – Bahamas 0
🇩🇪 Germany 3 – Bahamas 2
🇷🇴 Romania 5 – Bahamas 0

It wasn’t the start we were hoping for, but the team is on the board, gaining experience, and ready to come back fighting tomorrow.

A huge thank you to everyone back home and around the world who has been following along, sending messages, and cheering Team Bahamas on. The support means a lot.

TEAM BAHAMAS IS ON THE BOARD! 🇧🇸🎲

The team has arrived in London, the World Championships are underway, and Team Bahamas is officially in action.

At the moment, we’re 2–2 against Germany with one match still in progress so send all the good luck, strong rolls, and Bahamian support you can our way!

Today we’re proud to recognize Celestial Water as one of the sponsors supporting Team Bahamas. 🇧🇸

Celestial Water is owned and operated by Neil and Rachael Aberle, who have both played a huge role in this journey.

Neil is a valued member of Team Bahamas and will be representing the country in London, while Rachael has been supporting both Neil and the team every step of the way — helping with practice games, preparations, events, and just about everything else that needs doing.

And yes, some of those “practice games” have involved her giving Neil a very thorough reminder that competition starts at home. 😄

Team Captain Raymond has his backgammon board in hand, and Team Bahamas will soon begin the journey to London for the Backgammon World Championships.

After months of planning, practicing, fundraising, and preparing, tournament week is almost here.
