Now they are strong independent ladies and can be found at seperate parts of the field rooting, snoozing and wallowing.... 🐖

How did you survive lockdown?

A fortnight into lockdown we welcomed 4 Tamworth x Oxford Sandy and Black ladies to the farm. A nice bit of routine for the humans to care for the piglets who were completely oblivious to the world around them!

They have definitely settled in very well and LOVE a wallow... Particularly in this warm weather we have been having...

So news from us... we are resting the field before getting our new batch of piggies in September....So to keep us occupi...

So news from us... we are resting the field before getting our new batch of piggies in September....

So to keep us occupied... we have 6 lovely chooks from Fresh Start For Hens who are settling in beautifully. Lots of exploring and grooming...and sunbathing going on!

We have one particularly threadbare chook who is super sassy... It'll be good to see how she comes along over the coming days, weeks and months! 🐔

Thank you to all the Volunteers at for finding these working girls a new home! 🏡

(P. S. Feathers on the ground are from their wing clipping... A painless process of cutting wing feathers on one side to stop the ladies flying up too high...)

The camera didn't do these delicious sausages justice! We have had our first barbecue of the season and the Beechwood Farm sausages were devoured!

So... Meeting the Beechwood Farm piggies triggered a love of these lovely creatures... So much so one of our admin girls (or Chief Piggy Happiness Officer as she'd rather be known) has just visited the famous swimming pigs in the Bahamas...

They weren't fed (as apparently they have been naughty and biting other tourists) but they did have lots of tummy rubs and scratches... Which apparently are a universal language, no matter where you live...

These piggies have a very wiry coat which we think helps with preventing sunburn... Because (fun fact for you) piggies cannot sweat... 🐖

No piggy news or sausage innuendo for a while...🐖But we have been enjoying seeing the Ewshot Cows on this glorious sunny...
