This year, in addition to teaching children who otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford to take lessons, we have taken on the mantle of teaching a group of nonverbal autistic children. Coach Dominique Bradley, who has a degree in early education, started by teaching one neurodivergent child and the word quickly spread. She is now teaching private classes for 9 neurodivergent children, each getting 2 classes a week. Bernie Butler Open Water Swims felt the importance in this group of children also having the opportunity to learn and took over all costs for their classes.
