Mike Evans is officially trending toward game action again, and the timing could not be more important for Tampa Bay.
After returning to practice on December 3, the veteran receiver continued progressing through the week. Todd Bowles said Evans has shown everything he needed to show, putting him in position to be activated for Thursday’s matchup against the Falcons.
His 1,000-yard streak would require an unreal push of 215 receiving yards per game the rest of the way, but the true impact of his return extends far beyond that chase. The Buccaneers are locked in a tight battle for the NFC South, and getting Evans back brings leadership, attention-grabbing presence and big-play ability to an offense that needs all three.
