As a child, I lived in Trentino, where I picked up badminton. I also practised other sports at a competitive level. I'm the son of school teachers, and I too chose teaching as a professiรณn. I'm a physical education teacher and I now live and work in Calabria.

I was 11 years old and at school in Trentino when I saw badminton for the first time. What struck me was the speed of the game, and being able to play alongside men and women.
I played badminton from then on and loved it. I had to move to Calabria, and after a few years' hiatus, I continued playing into my teens. After university, I worked as a school teacher and started playing badminton again. I've been playing and teaching it regularly since 2016.

The most important events were participating in the national phase of the NOC Trophy, the Student Championships. Iโve had the good fortunue of being associated with Liuzzi Adelino, the regional president of Calabria and the teacher who taught me when I was a child; national trainer Fabio Morino, and the staff of the Italian federation.

Badminton has become a way of life, because in the game you have an opponent and you have to outplay him with technique and cunning if you want to win. Just like in real life, where you have to put in the effort to achieve good results.
Even though it's an individual sport, badminton gives you the opportunity to socialise and make friends. After a match, players always shake hands as a sign of respect, because even if you lose, you leave the court knowing you gave it your all. This is important for me.
Over the last five years, I have created a great group of boys and girls who play badminton regularly, thus giving the opportunity to practice this sport to people who probably would have stayed at home.

I had the opportunity to work with children at school and some of them continued to play because they enjoyed it. The most significant thing about Shuttle Time is getting children to play badminton and focussing on basic motor skills.
