Tech analysis of Aston Martin side pontoons!🔝😱

What's the idea? Theoretically - if the air flow is fast enough - the air entering the "hole" at high speed will be reflected from the wall, turn around and "seal" the hole. Then the flow going a little higher will flow around the zone as if it still has a hull part on it - and will move further to the bottom. Potential pluses: serious weight reduction. Potential downsides: This has never been tried before in F1, and a bad implementation will cause a lot of uncontrollable turbulent eddies. The car will lose balance and downforce.
