Condolence
The Pakistan Football Federation expresses its sincere condolences and deep sadness at the demise of former Pakistan national team captain Saleem Arab.
Mr. Saleem Arab was one of the greatest footballers Pakistan has ever produced. He had the honor of captaining the Pakistan national football team on many occasions and served the country with pride, passion, and dedication.
He was also a prominent player of Karachi Port Trust (KPT), who he represented the with distinction.
Beyond his achievements on the field, he was a remarkable mentor and teacher. Hundreds of young footballers were trained under his guidance, and many of his disciples went on to represent Pakistan at the national level.
Such was his influence that many of his students proudly adopted the surname “Arab” in his honor. Former Pakistan captain Saddam Hussain is also among his distinguished disciples.
His contributions to Pakistan football, both as a player and as a mentor, will always be remembered. The football community has lost a legend, but his legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
May Allah grant him the highest place in Jannah and give strength and patience to his family, friends, and the entire football fraternity. Ameen.
