Bred, owned and ridden by 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗮 𝗥𝗲𝗻𝘄𝗶𝗰𝗸, the Taloubet Z x Heartbreaker stallion has quietly built an impressive 2026 season and currently leads the Hippomundo ranking for 7-year-olds.

Three international young-horse wins, several strong results up to 1.40m and two victories at the British 7-year-old Championship underline his progress so far.

But behind Taluga’s story is also a breeding philosophy Laura strongly believes in: it all starts with the mare.

His dam 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝘂𝗴𝗮 was a successful sport horse herself and has already produced several black-type offspring, including Arkuga and NFS Corluga.

Ten years ago, 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 became World Champion for 5-year-olds in Lanaken with Willem Greve. What followed was a career that took him all the way to the highest level of international showjumping.

From Beezie Madden to Callie Schott, from World Cup success to 5* Grand Prix victories and Nations Cups, Garant certainly lived up to the promise he showed as a young horse.

The latest Hippomundo HR ranking shows a remarkable presence from 𝗜𝗿𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀, with three of their horses currently among the ten highest-rated horses.

𝗜𝗿𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗼𝘂 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗣𝗦 sits in 6th with Katrin Eckermann, followed by 𝗜𝗿𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗿 in 7th and 𝗜𝗿𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮 in 8th, both ridden by Sophie Hinners.

The current Hippomundo ranking for 5-year-olds reveals a striking trend: four of the five highest-ranked horses were bred in Belgium.

𝗗𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗸𝗮𝘀 𝘃𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗲 𝗛𝗮𝘇𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲 𝗭, 𝗡𝗼 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗗𝘂 𝗖𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝗭, 𝗘𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲 𝘃𝗱 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗭 and 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝗰𝗮 𝗗𝗕 currently occupy places two to five, right behind ranking leader Conorina FZ.
