Race Report (irrc sportbike)– Weekend of May 2 & 3
An intense race weekend for the SJL-Racing International Road Race Team, featuring changing conditions, fierce battles, and more crucial points for the championship.
Saturday, May 2 – Qualifying
Saturday was entirely devoted to qualifying.
In Q1, a solid P9 was secured, which immediately provided a strong starting point for the rest of the weekend.
During Q2, the lap time was improved again, even though this ultimately resulted in a P12. However, the progress and the feel on the bike were good, keeping confidence high heading into race day.
Sunday, May 3 – Race Day
Race 1
Race 1 was a real battle from start to finish.
After fighting for positions throughout the entire race and constantly battling with various riders, the team ultimately secured a strong 8th place overall.
Within the championship, this also meant an impressive 5th place, which again yielded important points for the season.
Race 2
For Race 2, the weather took a complete turn, and the rain created difficult conditions. Ultimately, the decision was made not to start the race.
Despite the unpredictable weekend, we’re taking home positive takeaways once again, and our focus remains fully on the next race.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers for the weekend ( Nathan , Wilbert , Katarzyna , Kamil ) Marjolijn and Marcel for the pictures and of course, our sponsors for this year—without you, none of this would have been possible. Thank you for your support, Vesrah , , Maxmotors
