New asana for me this morning, it’s called the super soldier pose. Pretty challenging (definitely more then it actually looks on the pic 😅 ) by its inversion, bound, twist, deep hip opening , chest opening through lateral stretch, forward bend and balance... pretty much everything at the same time 😆

Padmasana ( Lotus pose - with side stretch)

Benefits:
Relieves discomfort associated with menstruation
Relieves sciatica
Creates space between the pelvic bones, aiding in childbirth

Tip for beginners : if you experience a lack of flexibility in the hips, start with half lotus ( one foot only to rest on the opposite thigh )

Parivritta Utthita Pada Hastasana ( Revolved extended hand to foot )

How ?
- from mountain pose lift the right leg, hugging the knee in to the chest
- Bring the left hand on the outside of the right foot
- Extend the right arm out to the right side as you extend the right leg out towards the left
- Keep opening the torso towards the right in this standing twist and hip-opener and look beyond the right hand.
- Keep breathing and smiling, you’re doing amazing !

* Tones and strengthens the waist, hips, thighs and buttocks.
* Strengthens the arms and shoulders.
* Opens the chest
